In a sport that doesn't matter.

Who won it in baseball last year? About as relevant.

In terms of the actual business of college athletics as it relates to individual schools at the BCS level and their respective conferences, basketball is a distant 2nd to football, clearly you learned nothing from conference realignment.    For schools like ku, basketball is is huge, because football is losing money by the bushel basket full and the athletic department was nearly $9 million in the red last year.

ljmhawk is doing it wrong.  You need a little of this...

and a little of this...

College Basketball's Most Valuable Teams in 2013

2. Kansas Jayhawks

Current Value: $32.9 million
 Basketball Profit: $19.9 million
 One-Year Change in Value: 17%
 Conference: Big 12
 Head Coach: Bill Self

The Jayhawks' run to last year's championship game led to higher gameday and travel expenses - in fact, travel costs were up 47% to $1.6 million - but Kansas took home $12 million in ticket sales and generated another $5.6 million for the Big 12 from its 23 tournament games played over the last six seasons, the most of any team.

That'd be a great map if I knew what it was for.

Counties where the majority of of the lower class roots for either KU or K-State?

That's just one sport.

You can't support a BCS Level athletic program with just basketball.   ku athletics was nearly $9 million in the red last year.

KU is just like Cyprus. A haven for illicit Russian (Doug Compton) cash with no real economy to speak of.

Does Bill Self's monstrous policy of refusing to allow his players to leave for the nba amount to institutionalized racism?

Does Darrell Arthur's recruitment convey the decline of wholesome family values in this country?

Around $7 million of that was GFTO money paid to Turner and his staff.  I don't think you'll see anything like that for FY2012, especially d/t the nearly $20 million in profit our basketball team generated.

Really, making stud football schools like Alabama, LSU, USC, and EMAW prop up their basketball programs with football money amounts to putting an entire sport on the government dole. FIX THE DEFICIT! :shakesfist:

What happens when the BCS is gone in a couple years? Do KU fans still hang their hats on beating a garbage ACC team?
