Why would you eat your ribeye like that? That's like drinking a scotch and Pepsi.

Why rough ridin' not?

Bragging about how you don't eat this with your cut and all is so OVERRATED!!

Your penis is still the same size if you eat it either way.

Did I tell you about the one I had for lunch on Saturday? Bacon, lettuce, tomato, with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.

I believe 8manpick isn't basing his argument on what lies between the slices of bread. He appears to be focused on the slices of bread themselves.

Does it have cheese and did you heat it up on the stove, grill, or hot plate?

Oh no, I just mean that if it isn't mainly cheese between the bread, it isn't a grilled cheese sandwich, it is something else entirely. Accoutrements are okay, but be reasonable.

my problem is that the sandwich doesn't looked grilled at all. it looks like he slapped two scoops of cold kraft mac n cheese on some whole wheat with some canned corned beef hash mixed in.

True story - when I tried Scotch for the first time in my early 20's, my taste buds weren't ready for such an incredible experience.  I ended up finishing the bottle by mixing it with Pepsi.

I grilled it in a skillet buttered both pieces of bread. Its the type of bread it's whole wheat, it's already a dark bread. The bread was toasted and the mac and cheese was fresh i had just made it.

The ribeye was cubed and not sliced. Thats why it isn't very compact.

I think it is completely reasonable to consider Greg's sandwich a variation of the grilled cheese genre.  Between the mac n' cheese, and the cheese, and taking into consideration the nominal amount of ribeye, it's clear that cheese is the playing the lead role on the flavor stage.

Quote
A melt sandwich (also known in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom as a toasted cheese sandwich or, toastie) is a type of sandwich containing bread and some type of filling that is seasoned with cheese, sometimes grated. The sandwich is then grilled or fried until the cheese is melted.

Quote
One common filling is tuna fish, with mayonnaise; the result would then be a tuna melt sandwich. Other popular choices are ham, roast beef, chicken, turkey, or a hamburger patty, which is known as a patty melt. It is the filling that establishes the melt sandwich as a variation of the grilled cheese sandwich.

it's a melt, gregcat.  fits perfectly in this piece of crap thread of course.  way to go, bud.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

according to bread's factual quoted text, any sandwich with melted cheese is a subset of grilled cheese.

looks like the science is settled

Eating at a 3 star Michelin restaurant Friday

Oh man! Which one?
Grace in Chicago

This is happening tonight!  I'm going to have to temper my pre-meal paking to make sure I fully appreciate it though.
