At trivia last night the question was Largest Island in North America.

I asked the judge if he was using political or geographical terms to describe North America. He gave me a blank look like WTF?

This was all I needed to nail the Correct answer...Greenland(Danish Protectorate).

Full disclosure: I am horrible at golf and was losing pretty bad when I got to this hole.  I teed up and swung as absolutely hard as I could forgetting all about any technique and got lucky as hell that it flew straight.  My normal drive goes 50% of its distance straight then takes a 90deg turn and travels its remaining 50% of it's distance.

But, whatevs, it still happened.

perfect score on analytical part of GRE.
in highschool they would add your bench, squat and dead lift and then divide by weight- mine was second highest.
once pitched the first four innings of a five inning perfect game.
very good at guessing the exact time if asked for the exact time out of the blue.

Started varsity soccer as a freshman.  Scored the first goal in our first game.  Was going to be all like McGruder and just play it cool but the team went nuts and tackled me and dog piled.  Then the refs started the game before we were ready and their team kicked the ball 60 yards over our keeper's head and tied it up.  We ended up losing.

My brother (adoptive, but it counts) is an EMT and taught me CPR.  During summer break of my junior year at K-State I saved a guys life in front of a gas station by keeping enough oxygen in his lungs and his performing chest compressions on an elderly man that had a heart attack.

I went to buy an orange soda from the gas station and the attendant gave it to me for free.  Best thing I've ever done.

Best thing I've ever done.

that's pretty good, not million airline miles good but decent

That is the truth!  I'm still working on recovering the almost cashed motherboard from the level of stud inherent in those airline miles.

I ran a 10k and an old man told me the finish line was closer than it was so I picked up my pace and puked about a mile away from the finish line. A cop pulled over and asked if I was ok. I looked at him and said "yes" and caught the old guy and finished 2nd in my age group and top 10 I believe.

Best orange soda you've ever had I bet, too.
Have always had a fear that the time in my life I'll have to do that it'll be some gross obese person.

It was.  I was walking into the gas station for the sole reason of getting an orange soda.  I saw a man laying on the ground next to the front door.  I could hear the man's wife shrieking from the car (she couldn't get out to help as she was very frail).  He had the heart attack as he went into pay.  I started CPR and a local fireman started helping.  We alternated breathing when one of us would get tired.  He was much better at the counting portions.  This gave us enough time for a third party to run to the fireman's house (which was one block away) to get his Bag Valve Mask so the man would get enough oxygen to his brain.  I got his name from his wife and visited the hospital the next day (I checked with the hospital to see if he was admitted which wasn't a HIPAA violation at the time).

Happenstance is a beautiful thing and I remember the taste of that orange soda like it was yesterday.  So yeah...I kind of made out with an elderly man but it served a purpose.

Five times: A x B; A x C; A x C; A x C; A x C.  Was friends with A in undergrad.  B and C were friends with A.  A developed feelings and it emploded thereafter.  Was everything I thought it would be and so much more.  It actually sort of ruined regular sex for me for quite a while following it.  The craziest part is that I did absolutely nothing to bring it about other than just be me in the right place at the right time.  It haunts me to this day.  Probably what drug addicts feel like.

The company I work for just recently held their company golf tournament for all the bigwigs. While I'm nowhere near the bigwig level of this company, the regional vice president remembered during my interview that I talked about playing in amateur tournaments during college. He called up my boss and told him that I needed that day off and that I would be playing on his team. Carried the team (me, him and some grossly huge fat guy who could barely swing) and brought home the hardware. Currently up for a promotion :gocho:

Yes blumps, she was.  They were all sorority dime pieces, but C was a cut above the other two.  I don't know about that five times nonsense, because I would have gladly continued in any possible permutation if A hadn't ruined it with her feelings.

Only player on my 7th grade baseball team to hit a home run over the fence. The day I hit it I also got suspended from school for throwing a gatorade bottle out of the bus window into an open sunroof.  My only suspension from school and over the fence home run in my life, all in one glorious day.

Last game of my High School basketball career I got a double tech for getting into a "fight" with an opposing player about twice my size.  Was an away game and I was booed by the whole crowd.  There was about a minute left and the other coach pulled their guy.  I looked to the coach to see if he was going to pull me, he just shrugged and left me in.

I ran a 10k and an old man told me the finish line was closer than it was so I picked up my pace and puked about a mile away from the finish line. A cop pulled over and asked if I was ok. I looked at him and said "yes" and caught the old guy and finished 2nd in my age group and top 10 I believe.

In 8th grade I made a buzzer beater to win the game and was carried off the court by a few kids from the crowd who rushed the court. In 5th grade I made a 3/4 court shot to go ahead at halftime which if my parents would have loved me, they would have sent in to ESPN and I could have had one of those really shitty top ten highlights

Estimate the total volume. If the object is relatively round like M&M's or skittles, assume about 30% of this is void. If it has a different shape, it'll be a different percent. Divide the remaining volume by the volume of 1 object. Do that all in your head.

7th grade, playing some bball against our arch rival the Mud-Dogs, every year since 3rd grade the winner of this game had won the league...Tied game, 3 seconds left, we have an inbound from around midcourt...

ben ji is the safety valve in case the guy cant get the ball in.....The Mud-Dogs play some stifling defense and our play goes to crap...ben ji get the ball, takes 2 dribbles and throws up a desperation 3(around the spot that Holloway made the ridiculous 3 in the S16 vs cats)....BALL CRUSHES THE BACK BOARD AND GOES THROUGH THE HOOP, THE CROWD GOES WILD...our bench clears and I get tackled around the free throw line.

I pretended like we just won the super bowl and told everyone "I'm going to Disney world!"

In an adult league semifinal, we were down 1 and one of our guys throws up 35 footer as the clock is winding down, I jumped and did a catch and tip from the bottom of the circle because his shot was so short. Made it! We WON! I ran down the sidelines and pulled my jersey off and did the Brandi Chastain thing <sans the sports bra>.

I made the varsity soccer team as a freshman.  Played striker.  In our first game we were playing KC Christian.  Ten minutes in a midfielder is pushing the ball forward and I make a diagonal run towards the 18 yard box and he plays the ball in front of me.  With a guy on my back and without even looking I one-timed it and drilled a worm burner into the side panel.  I turned upfield playing it cool but the team went nuts and tackled me and mobbed me, dog pile style.  Later that night was our first mixer and I was introduced to and danced with a few juniors and seniors (like the hot ones).  :gocho:

My grandpa passed away a couple of years ago and I ended up buying his house last year.

He was part of the 398th bomb unit based outside of London during WW2 and was very proud of his service to our country. When I moved in to the house there were still some posters hanging in the garage from a reunion trip to London in 2000 listing all the people in his unit who died.

I saved the poster's and finally got around to framing it along with some old pictures, one of which was the actual flight path for a bombing of Berlin on May 8th 1944. I hung it up next to some old Stars and Stripes Newspapers with headlines about the war ending that he had saved.

On the way back from the gym Tuesday around 9:30pm, i saw some kid in a Ford Ranger trying to dig himself out of the snow with a big akward snow shovel.  Stopped, asked if he needed a hand, and got out the tow strap to pop the poor kid out.  Always prepared and drive a jeep, the best.

Also, i've been fighting a cold, finally broke down and got some generic cough syrup... i went generic because Nyquil has Acetaminophen  and i didn't want it interfering with my nightcap.  Turns out the stuff was 10% booze, since they forewent the pain reliever.  I'm cough free and feeling good.

I really just wanted to brag about the whiskey-cough syrup combo.

My grandpa is 85 and an emeritus professor.  In December my sister graduated and they let him give her her diploma.  When it came time for my sister they announced his name, his college, and that he was an emeritus professor presenting his granddaughter with her diploma.  He's still in decent shape, but moves a little slow because he's 85.  They forgot to give him a heads up, so it took him 10 seconds to get up there.  During that time all of faculty from my sister's college and on the stage gave him a pretty good applause with a few of them standing up.  The crowd gave him a decent applause as well.  He walked in/out with the procession, so afterwards many of them, including some provost/dean level people, came up to him to shake his hand and told him it was cool he was able to do that at his age.  It's one of the top-5 coolest things I've ever seen.

Sorry to go off on the grandpa tangent in this thread.

I threw a no-look pass on a rebound between two people once, to my gym bball teacher at ku who was 6'9.  Who then ruined the assist of my life by missing the chipshot.   It was really a sick pass, if it happened in a college game it'd get replayed.

Blew straight through a stop sign at 3am in the middle of Aggieville. Passed 4 cops between there and my house, which less than a mile away.

Thanks for endangering the public drunk ass.

Zero alcohol in my system. That's what was so stud about it.

We racked up a huge tab at this new dive bar downtown called "Tiger bar, Tiger stripe, something like that, etc.) Saturday day with a group of friends. These guys in their late 30's pooled their $ together to open a bar, cause they were both single. Worst part of it, is they are horrible. They don't know how to bartend and their prices are extremely low. We had some girls with us, that the owners love and next thing you know, the owners picked up the $250 tab. That place will never make it.

Was carrying one of my sleeping kids from the car up to his bed. As I'm approaching the shoe basket on my way upstairs, I pull off one of his shoes and toss it the basket. But wait, it gets better. Instead of stopping by the basket to get the other shoe off, I keep walking past the basket. As I get the shoe off, I just casually flick it behind my back towards the basket, which is now rapidly receding into the distance. Bullseye.

Cool! (I don't know what a good score is, but that sounds great or you wouldn't have posted ITT.)

Also, were there lots of gE related questions?

Not as such, but that score does equate to the 99th percentile, and 99% does have some relevance to KSU.  gE is related to KSU. So, my score has some relevance to KSU, and therefore is related to gE.

You know when you come up with a great comeback after it's usefulness?  Well one time I got really messed up, late 20's, and I was thinking of when I would leave the house in high school and my mom would yell "don't do anything stupid!"  In my messedupedness I thought that if I had said "don't have such high expectations" that would have slayed her.

I won my NFL betting pool last year (point for each correctly predicted win for every game of the season), and collected $20 from everyone in the pool.  At our annual spring and fall campouts, everyone has to call me "governor".  It's boss, if someone calls me by name, I don't answer unless they correct themselves and call me governor.  Just thought of that because the fall campout is coming up in a couple of weeks, and have to practice only answering to "governor".

I once made $20 chugging free 32oz Big Beers at Tubby's because one of the regular riley rats challenged me. (This was at noon on a sunday while working)

Started out that the bartender poured the wrong beer, sent it back to the kitchen. Guy sitting at bar says $5 you can't chug that in 45 seconds....please. Took it easy and downed that sucker with time to spare.

10 minutes later another big beer shows up, same deal but 30 seconds this time....puh. lease. Knocked it out. Even had time to do a couple of push ups before finishing, just really rub it in.

15 minutes later another big beer shows up. Double or nothing but this time I only get 15 seconds. No problem. Boom. $20. I'm rich.

Today, I was driving to work, and I noticed this bus was about to run a light and merge into my right lane where a group of school children were, a duck, and 5 baby ducklings and instead of the bus running into them, I cut off the bus, forcing me onto the curb and saving around 50 lives all together. My car took a beating, but saving those children was far more worth the reward.

Sometimes I'll make casual observations to people I don't know.  I was at Walmart, and behind a woman buying like 8 of these huge bras.  When I got to the register to pay for my stuff, I remarked to the cashier that the lady he just rang up was buying some rather colorful brassiers, he stopped and told me that the inside of the cups had spirals in them "like you're going to be hypnotized or something".  He then went on to say that he probably would manage to avoid hypnosis if he got to the point where he saw the inside of a woman's bra.  I thought the guy was awesome.

I support Greg's claim. Many well-established grilled cheese recipes include tomato and protein sources such as prosciutto.  The ribeye appears to be more of a flavor additive in this case.

Oh no, I just mean that if it isn't mainly cheese between the bread, it isn't a grilled cheese sandwich, it is something else entirely. Accoutrements are okay, but be reasonable.

my problem is that the sandwich doesn't looked grilled at all. it looks like he slapped two scoops of cold kraft mac n cheese on some whole wheat with some canned corned beef hash mixed in.

I grilled it in a skillet buttered both pieces of bread. Its the type of bread it's whole wheat, it's already a dark bread. The bread was toasted and the mac and cheese was fresh i had just made it.

I think it is completely reasonable to consider Greg's sandwich a variation of the grilled cheese genre.  Between the mac n' cheese, and the cheese, and taking into consideration the nominal amount of ribeye, it's clear that cheese is the playing the lead role on the flavor stage.

Quote
A melt sandwich (also known in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom as a toasted cheese sandwich or, toastie) is a type of sandwich containing bread and some type of filling that is seasoned with cheese, sometimes grated. The sandwich is then grilled or fried until the cheese is melted.

Quote
One common filling is tuna fish, with mayonnaise; the result would then be a tuna melt sandwich. Other popular choices are ham, roast beef, chicken, turkey, or a hamburger patty, which is known as a patty melt. It is the filling that establishes the melt sandwich as a variation of the grilled cheese sandwich.

it's a melt, gregcat.  fits perfectly in this piece of crap thread of course.  way to go, bud.

Okay, let me try to answer this. Yes, I was trying to be misogynistic in the post referenced above.
I apologized to both of the Goochs because I have not met you and your feet, but I have met your husband, and he was a nice guy. Since I was mean in a post directed at you and your boob size (I have no idea if they are big or small), which is kind of GPCy to do, I decided to apologize to both of you, because Gooch seems like the type of guy that would not like somebody being a dick to his wife.
If I had met you and you seemed like the type of person that would not like somebody making fun of your husband, but I made fun of him in a GPCy way, then I would apologize to you as well.

I think I should have taken Wacky's advice and ran straight the eff out of here.

You should have started this debacle in the Shame thread because being a misogynist is not a stud thing.

Also, notice that Gooch has not commented at all which means that either...
1. He isn't offended by someone insulting his wife.
or
2. He isn't a misogynist and doesn't think he needs to come the rescue of his wife and get an apology from you for insulting his wife.
or
3. He doesn't read this blog.

Whichever of those options it is, you totally misjudged him when you thought you needed to apologize to him.

For the record, I assume option 1 99.9% of the time that somebody appears to be genuinely upset. I respond accordingly. I try to slow play the joke because it's fun being involved in it rather than just reading it.

One is bigger than the other one though, which is not uncommon.

I am mostly 5' 9", and weigh less than 155, so Mediums look like normal clothes on me.  I lift, but I have been doing low weight high rep.  I want to shift to trying to grow big arm muscles so they stick out on my shirts and make me look like a total beefcake hunk, but I am concerned that I may not have the genes for that.  :dunno:

waks, bunter and i brewed up an american wheat ale. we used a malt extract kit, because we're nowhere near ready to go all-grain, and added our own hops. 1 oz. willamette at 60 min., 1 oz cascade at 15 min. and 1 oz german melon at 10 min.

i think we want to fill up our other carboy next week. we need to decide on a style and get it ordered.

we've got fermentation!

thats fun! what kind of beer are you cookin up?

waks, bunter and i brewed up an american wheat ale. we used a malt extract kit, because we're nowhere near ready to go all-grain, and added our own hops. 1 oz. willamette at 60 min., 1 oz cascade at 15 min. and 1 oz german melon at 10 min.

i think we want to fill up our other carboy next week. we need to decide on a style and get it ordered.
Super stud thing here.

Shot a deer right through the heart at 138 yards, he made it 50 yards to a mud puddle.  Had to drag him out, clean him up, and then since we were three miles from the road had to cape him out, cut into quarters, steaks, and roasts, load him in our packs and carry him out on our backs.  Again three miles.  Once we got to the road I had to run another 2 miles to my truck in the rain. But now he is home in a big ass cooler in my garage being dry aged.  I will finish processing him on Friday.  Probably chew on some tenderloin and backstrap this weekend and get to smoking some jerky.

I think if you can get all the fat off and then take good care of the meat even the older bucks can taste good.  I've never had rutted up stud bucks though, just post-rut 3.5-5.5 year old deer.

I have only had good deer meat once or twice.  At those times I have asked how ppl prepare it and am always told some elaborate process that includes soaking in butter milk, wrapping in bacon a bunch, or slathering a bunch of some other type of grease or oil on it.  You can treat cardboard the same way and get similar results.

As for sausage and jerkey, if you can't make literally anything taste good in sausage or jerkey, you don't know what you are doing.

Some ppl tell you they love deer because of how healthy it is compared to beef.  Pretty much everything described above negates that.

Most people, the vast majority, don't properly trim the fat off.  The fat carries that game-y taste, and will still go rancid even when frozen.  It's not that elaborate, just time consuming, and you might whittle down 50 pounds of meat to just 30, but it's worth it.  Remember most people don't know how to cook a beef steak, too, and that's pretty rough ridin' simple.

Hunting isn't about being drunk.  It's about being hung over.

1. drive to the place you are hunting
2. get super pak'ed with the crew and stay up super late
3. get up super early
4. go hunting like an hour before light
5. wish to god you didn't stay up so late and swear you won't do it again
6. Do it all again.

Haha, that's kinda true.  A joke in my group of bird hunting buddies is sometimes at the first field if you are still hurting pretty bad but too proud to admit it you just collar up your dog and leave the gun, and when someone asks "not carrying a gun?" you just say "naw I'm just going to run dogs for a bit" and act all gentlemanly and that your friends are heathens for actually killing the birds.

Currently reading about engines like my livelihood depends on it, bc it does. I mean, check it out. This is a nice ass seiner, and the skipper is such a good dude https://juneautek.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/commercial-fishing-photo-of-the-day-fv-lake-bay-an-original-delta/

Lake Bae was just for lols. It's the Lake Bay. We were just joking about the naming possibilities bc boats are often referred to or named after women. Also, yeah "Bud," is not his given name. This boat packs 100 lbs. I said, "Bud, I gotta make some money, can't be on that program from last summer when ppl went home with almost nothing." He says, "Pvegs, I don't go up to Alaska unless I'm gonna make money." That's a pretty bad ass thing to say.

Yeah, imagine lil Ben ji coming home from school extremely excited to see where ESPN the magazine had ranked the cats and then the shock on his face when his cousin was featured shirtless.

find a crap ton of practice tests and problems and go those. That'll help you figure out what you're deficient at and study that. That being said I spent way too much time studying concepts and not actual questions and I felt that ended up being a waste. Still passed while unable to eat anything that entire day cause my stomach was to goddamn clinched to even think about being hungry. It's hard, but it's not that hard if you think on your feet a bit (at least for the EE test)

That sucks. There is definitely a lot on the line, both in terms of earning potential and the factor of "WTF am I going to do if I fail this thing?"

I felt like I bombed the afternoon test, but that I might have got 100% of the morning test right. It made it sort of stressful waiting for the letter. It's hard not knowing what sort of score you need to pass.

Imagine just arriving in Vegas walking down the Strip at 10am around a 7.5 on the booze scale. You pass a group of men about your parents age and you both do double takes, “Coach?” “ben ji”?

Turns out it was my bball/baseball coach from elementary through middle school there with some buds. We make some small talk and this conversation ensues

ben ji – “Man, its been a while, cant remember the last time I saw you”
Coach (Pointing Finger at my chest) – “I remember, you made 2 free throws with no time left in the championship game to send it to overtime and then we won”

The last football video game I played was NCAA 13, only played with CK7 and the Katz.

Decided to buy Madden this year because #Mahomes and am currently ranked 1127 in the world, only play with my guy #Mahomes.

Quit smoking a year ago, lost twenty pounds have been walking 3 miles every other day with my long range patrol internal frame pack with 50 lbs in it for three months starting back in June! Why at my ripe young age of double nickel?  To go on my first ever Elk archery hunt in Montana for twelve days! Starting this Friday!,,,, effffffffffffff yeah goemaws!

Will post some pics when I get back can’t wait and will hopefully fill a tag worked hard enough and practiced enough now just have to finish this thing out. All pack in camp out and basically survive on the mountain and chase game for twelve days  :Woot: :Woot:
