I have an upstairs shower on the opposite end of my house that needs to have its flow adjusted. Send your builder to NC for me.

Honestly, I don't know what he can do, but you flat out will not like using that tub if it takes 15 minutes to fill. It can be a real mood killer (no "KATDADDY NO!").

That thing is awkwardly awesome. I love it.
I hope they put a larger water supply line into that thing. If they didn't, tell them to change that crap out right now.
Did they use a larger water supply line? I think standard is 1/2 in. On larger baths, or lakes like that thing, they often install a 3/4 inch.

I asked our builder and he said we can adjust flow to it if we want. I'm going to fire it up and see how fast it fills up and then make them do it if needed.

Builder for "turn your faucet all the way on".

LOL, yeah, I was wondering myself how they plan to "adjust" the rough-in in a nearly completed home.
Short of adding some sort of pump, just turn the water on full hot and check on it every 30min or so until full.

Pro tip: that tub will get used less than once a month.  But it looks cool, and that's what counts in my book

Especially since they have a baby that eats like William "The Refrigerator" Perry.

Not sure the relation but I know we have a big 'cuzzi tub and it never gets used.  Can't imagine one without the jets will get much more use.  But it's not uncommon to have stuff in your house that never gets used.  see, my downstairs home gym

Maybe they are expecting the baby to get big enough to require that size tub soon from eating so much?

I just had a house built.  The process sucked.  I started caring about things I shouldn't (colors, fixtures, showers, wood, counters).  It was like a bad HGTV show every damn day.  Would not recommend.

REVIEW:

no grass or plants and junk yet

covered deck was a great idea. very worth it. it's hot.

bath fills up fast'ish (7 or so minutes). we have boss water pressure! maybe stuff bursts later? hopefully not.

all furniture should have the little felt pads included. what a pain in the ass.

nest thermostat gave cox guy a coxboner. really nerded out for a bit.

new house got the record score for like spending less money on gas/electric/water in the neighborhood or something. guy said it had a lot to do with what direction our house and windows and stuff faced. the thing says we're only going to spend $2k a year on gas/water/electric which does not seem possible at all. HOPEFULLY THOUGH!

get the faucet that turns on automatically if you put your hand over it. way worth it. not that much more expensive.

neighbors across the street are "driveway" neighbors. go out on the deck like a normal person you freaks.

dogs, dogs EVERYWHERE

kids, kids also EVERYWHERE

addition:

I've messed up the garage code thing enough that the 1-2-3-4 code no longer works but the new code I wanted to change it to also doesn't work. we are at an impasse.

I'm glad you asked michigancat. It is a good opening to another story I have. You see, a thing that people do in NE because they are stupid Nebraskans is immediately tell their new neighbors which NU football players live in their neighborhood. Our neighborhood has Tommie Frazier and a guy named Lawrence Pete who I'm told played in the NFL for a bit. BOTH CONFIRMED MINORITIES (googled the second guy to confirm).
