I was shocked at how Gotts DESTROYED O'Niell in that interview.

He destroyed O'Neil because he's terrible and has been terrible for at least 5 years. If you shoe polish your hair you shouldn't be allowed to have a job in the public eye.

While I agree with you 100%, I'm surprised that an aspiring coach wouldn't want to keep as many circles friendly to him. I'm surprised that even the general basketball professional community would allow that kind of specific calling out of officials.  We all know when some statements are made its done with a clear subtext of this person screwed up, but professionally we'll just say some issue arose, we'll make appropriate adjustments and 'take appropriate actions' (see big 12 statement).  To have Gotts flat out question why Curtis Shaw assigned him and than to further call out the professional community which he seemed to insinuate resented O'Neill being given 'good' match ups with his old and slow refereeing was surprising to me.

ku fans live in a bubble.  everyone outside of ku fans can see the favoritism shown to the jayhawks.  i do agree that everyone not associated with ku through the purchase of a jayhawk t-shirt from their local walmart does hate them though.

weren't there 2 loose ball fouls called against ISU in a row?  the one on the baseline when EJ was involved, then the one on the sideline when releford was involved ?  i can't remember.

both were bad calls for sure.  it still gave ISU an opportunity to win.  If they don't call that loose ball foul does tharpe make a wide open 3 and win it anyway?  we'll never know. 

lets not forget that ISU has blown a lot of games like this without any help from the refs this season.  If I was an ISU fan i'd be pretty pissed too but more at my team for folding down the stretch so often.  Gottlieb's points though are spot on no matter how you look at it.
