Is The Walking Dead a metaphor for Wildwildcat football?

The fact that more people watch this than Breaking Bad just shows how rough ridin' stupid people are.

Breaking Bad weeded out the dumbasses with the first half of the first season, basically.  The Walking Dead hit you in the face in the first 15 min.  If you didn't watch it after the first few epi's it was because you understood what it was and it wasn't for you.

I don't get how Sophia or any of the other who get "caught" by the walkers ever come back as zombies?  Doesn't the hoard of zombies basically eat the whole body of what they catch?  There shouldn't be anything left to "turn"

they clearly are decaying, would make sense that decayed ones can't do as much as fresh ones and there aren't many fresh ones.

yeah I think I remember them talking about that and how they need food just like us. but do they "regenerate" after they've eaten?

I'd love for some back-story.  Like, how did this whole thing start?  Is it worldwide?  I'd also like to know how our entire military, government was completely eliminated.

Like, we've got a roving band of humans, led by a cop, surviving at a prison.  And they've killed thousands of zombies using screwdrivers and hammers.  But, like, our military, armed with the most technically advanced weaponry, just got wiped out in a few weeks.  Let's talk topography too.  Obviously, these zombies get hungry and like loud noises.  So, logically, shouldn't there be a lot more survivors in less populated parts of the country.  Like the widwest or canada, or something?  Or, basically, the opposite of Atlanta, GA.  I imagine a place like North Dakota hasn't even seen a zombie and those that exist will probably freeze to death pretty soon.  Zombies aren't exactly in peak physical shape.  so, maybe moving your base of operations near some treacherous terrain would be smart.  Like, some fast running water (i.e. a river), or an island, or in the mountains.  or somewhere.

There are so many unknowns.  yet, everybody seems content just raising pigs in a prison in Atlanta for a couple years.  I mean, buck up, get out there, and discover what, if anything, is left of humanity!

Welp, I guess I'm not the only one wanting to know how it all started.  But, apparently, the backstory won't ever been addressed in this Walking Dead.  But, maybe in the spin-off.  These are quotes from the current case, talking about their spin-off ideas.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walking-dead-spinoff-ideas-cast-650159

Andrew Lincoln (Rick)
There's always the fascination when you watch something like our show and you think, "How did it start? What caused it? How do we cure it?" But that is completely at odds with what our show is about. The thing I love about our show is we're the grunts. We're the people that don't know anything. That's why I love episodes one and two because the new threat is the common cold that's going to kill us. There are countless areas that you can explore because it is about the human condition -- it's just a vacuum-packed perfect sort of lab test.

Danai Gurira (Michonne)
I would love to see how the government responded to the outbreak and how it crumbled. The amount of security systems this country has to see that start: What was it? How did they find out and see them as they know it got out of hand. I'd love to go right into that situation room. You always want to know more from that. Cracking more into how that all broke down and what that looked like.

Chad Coleman (Tyreese)
In this world, I'd like to see other communities and other places. I'd find a way to weave in what the apocalypse looks like around the world. Is there any way for us to have any communication to find out what's going on in Egypt? Or is there any way to see what's happening in the outside world? I'd love to see more about what the military's involvement really is because people often ask me how it happened and that's too big of a question for me. That's above my pay rate!

so, basically, the entire cast agrees that the show would be better if it focused more on big picture concepts and less on raising pigs and purifying water.

didn't they think it was a virus that made people sick at first and that the survivors were immune, but then CDC said they were all infected and just not everyone had symptoms?

I'd imagine 97% or whatever died from the virus and died from it.

So, in other words, the show is completely at odds with anything interesting.

I tend to agree, the acting/writing isn't near good enough to carry through these boring times.

They need to get someone like HBO to take on this genre, and do it right.

they've made it pretty clear from the beginning that this show is about people who happen to be living in a world with zombies.  it's not a show about a some sort of health crisis that creates zombies.

I don't really care if they're doing what they said they would do - the show is either good or it isn't. Would it really be that hard to insert some flashbacks to the outbreak, or give the characters a goal beyond subsistence living in a prison? This does not make for entertaining TV.

They did this during the first season and a half then quit.  I agree with OK Cat tho, I enjoy the crap outta the show.
