I watched some of the meet on ESPN.

I hoping that when they convert the current Football indoor to the indoor track, that it looks half as elite as Arkansas' indoor track.

They aren't banking the track are they? That would would be an elite move. So, I assume not.

I don't know.   They are estimating $13 million total and those tracks are about $2 to $3 million.

Arky and/or A&M would be nice to replicate. But, I imagine we'll dial it back and it'll be closer to Kentucky's (not bad, but not great either).

Given the number of indoor meets K-State has, I think they should put in a ramped track.

Gene will probably announce it as banked and build it flat.

Kenard popped his best jump in 4 years at his last meet.  In the mix to make Olympic team again.

It would be cool if both Kynard and Shankar competed in Tokyo, but the standard is now 7-7 3/4 (2.33) and Shankar's career best is 7-6 1/4 (2.29). But, he's still got some time...

Kynard finished fourth yesterday, so he won't be making the trip to Tokyo. On the women's side KSU alum Janee Kassanavoid was three inches short of finishing in third place in the hammer and making her first Olympic team. Unfortunately, zero K-State current athletes/alums will be competing for the U.S.

The rest of the teams around the world will be finalizing their rosters in the next few weeks and some athletes might compete for other countries. Many countries simply choose their athletes vs. the competition model the U.S. uses, so it's hard to say who might make their countries' respective teams.

Janee Kassanavoid finished second in the hammer at the US Championships last weekend, which means she'll be competing in the world championships in a couple of weeks (for the first time ever, the world championships will be held in the U.S. in the self-annointed "track town USA" aka Eugene). She's currently ranked sixth in the world and has a decent chance to medal.

The K-State SID folks suck with track, so hard to say if Kassanavoid will be the only alum competing, but the official start list should be up in another week or so.
