I never thought I'd be more excited for an upcoming Bat Cats season than an upcoming bball season.

What a mind eff it would be if our first natty is in baseball. I mean I'll take it, it is going to be a very solid team next year, just never imagined K-State baseball as being this studly before.

Outfield will be fine. We need pitchers that can throw heat.

I'm not saying it IS going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

1B: Conlon
2B: Miles
SS: Fisher
3B: Santigate
C: Debord
LF: Meyer
CF: Kivett
RF: ??

Why would Kivett move to the outfield? I think he is going to stay at 2nd base, as he is an excellent defensive player. Our outfield starters will be Meyer, Dalrymple, and someone else TBD.

RK seems like the kind of player who could play any position you put him at. It could be more about what abilities the other guys have that are going to have to step in. I'll be more curious to see where he bats in the lineup with King leaving the cleanup spot is wide open, especially considering no one on the team hits for much power.

Dalrymple probably has the most speed of the group, so wouldn't that make sense for CF?

I would think Dalrymple would be in center. As for batting 4th, I think it may be Conlon. IIRC, he led the team in homers. I just don't see anyone else that could bat clean up. Kivett is more of a leadoff guy, and a good one at that.

Kivett actually started the year batting 4th and then moved to leadoff in mid March. This is when his numbers and the team really took off. Fisher would be great batting cleanup too... His HR total wasn't great, but he did lead the team in slugging % and XBH. Conlon did lead the team in HR, but it was only with 7.

Actually, that's an 11 on a 10 scale of Stud/Boss-ness.

If you're really interested a few of the current players along with freshman outfielder Wilks, are playing on the rossville rattlers.  You really have to enjoy baseball to watch some of these games though.

I talked to a lady in Colorado whose high school junior son is being recruited by BatQatz. Apparently he throws a ruthless junkball. Would take.
