Would have been hard to play worse in any aspect tonight...
Awful defense (at least 3 balls in the outfied that should have been caught and were misplayed, a missed infield popup, passed balls, etc.), awful situational awareness (plenty of hits, but at least 2 DPs, poor strikeouts swinging at junk after being ahead in the count, trying to stretch a double into a triple with zero outs, etc.), bad pitching (they scored in all but two innings, Frost started and gave up 5 after getting a single out, etc.) and terrible coaching (I stopped counting at 5 UCF hits to gaps after we deployed shifts).
Considering that UCF is the second worst team in the league, that they had been swept by both Cincy and KU, that they were riding a 7-game losing streak, that we hadn't lost a game all year at home and that we had a chance to get back to first with a win... just a piss poor effort.
Hopefully they can flush it - supposed to be super windy tomorrow and UCF pitching sucks, so could/should be a lot of offense tomorrow (which we'll probably need because our pitching has been awful the last two weeks). This is a must-win series if we want to have a shot at a league title.
