We shouldn't have - Coastal won the national title less than a decade ago and is a perennial top 25 team.

We typically struggle at the beginning of the year under Hughes. If you're going to lose, might as well be against good teams.

Regardless, this team better figure out how to hit or it's going to be a very long year because the pitching clearly isn't there.

And... we blew it and lost 12-9.

The pisser is that we had two outs in the 7th and Guyette threw a borderline strike over the middle of the plate on a 3-2 count (ump didn't give him a high strike). Then, UNC plates 5 runs with 2 outs to seal the game.

We just gave KState's season new life. Dont know what it is about those guys, but if we dont ever play them again, it would be fine with me. They just live to beat us.

This is a bad loss against a team that couldn't come close to beating Coastal Carolina.

The amazing thing about that kind of stuff is that it's baseball.

For a college team to start 17-0 they have to be absolutely awesome and playing very weak competition.

40% the Top 25 in CBB have at least one loss to start the season, and several have 2 losses.

Man what a murderers row of a schedule. 3 of our last 4 games have been against ranked opponents and then our next game is #3 LSU, Sam Houston, then #23 Nebraska.

First four hitters today: 2-for-18, 2 BBs, 6 SO, 2 runs
Bottom five hitters today: 10-for-20, 4 BBs, 3 SO, 8 runs , 4 2Bs

Also, considering we gave up 45 runs in our first five games (two of which were against really bad teams), to have given up 5 runs in three games against 3 ranked teams is pretty amazing.
