The question that really needs to be asked is what the eff is going on with Texas?

losing to a coach they had previously pounded the stuffing out of demoralized them.

If the Cats can win one game during the series at KU this weekend, it will be only the fourth time in the last 10 years that the last-place finisher in the conference wasn't either K-State or KU (and, the second time in the last seven years that Texas will finish in last place).

So, there's that.

We got the crap kicked out of us tonight but so did Texas so we've backed into the tournament. UT last in the Big 12, wow!

25-31 (8-16) and finishing 8th out of 9 is remarkable?

I think it's a good sign that most of the guys who got Big 12 honors are mostly Freshman he brought in tho. Also, eff Brad Hill!

It was a decent showing relative to what Hughes inherited.

With some more facilities improvements coming it will be interesting to see how he performs.

Comparing Brad Hill to oscar Weber. It's the biggest rough ridin' mismatch of all time and you should write a hand written letter to oscar Weber apologizing to him.

oscar inherited a program that had recently been to the elite 8, and he shared 2 league titles (one with the inherited team) and went to an elite 8.

Brad Hill inherited dog crap, won a league title and got the cats into multiple ncaa tournaments, a super regional, first win over #1 team, got cats in top 10.

 :dunno:

oscar Weber has taken 3 different D1 teams to the NCAA Tournament, took one to the National Title, Won K-State 2 conference titles in 7 years, the first one being since '78.

Brad Hill, who's currently still unemployed was a dumpster fire. lol at having the first team to beat a #1 when you have 3 chances at it in a series and pitching makes the difference in the game. Had 15 seasons with K-State, because they literally almost had zero baseball history before he got there. He finished 8th place or below in the conference 9 TIMES!

He was also an assistant squawk for 3 seasons before coming to K-State. If you want to compare him to anyone, it potentially might be Klieman.

sounds like him building the program from the ground up and winning a big 12 title, i should have compared him to LHC Bill Snyder.

our new baseball coach sounds like a better comparison to oscar, my bad

did brad hill not talk to you one time you tried interviewing him?  smoked a cig?  didn't recruit you?

Meow Meow: Super butthurt over mediocre K-State coaches, unless it’s Brad Hill. :curse: Weber is still dunking his head in the toilet on a yearly bases so he’s just absolutely enraged about it. Sad.

I don't get Wacky's massive hatred for Brad Hill and calling him a dumpster fire is a bit much, but Hill clearly needed to go. Now, Ritch Price on the other hand - that guy's cumulatively been paid millions by KU and has done less than Hill. That Price has nearly 20 years at KU with one top-3 league finish, 3 NCAAs in nearly 20 years, a .400 league record, etc. - pretty amazing.

Barring a magical run through the Big 12 tourney, you could give Hughes a "B-minus" for the season. He didn't inherit much beyond Brennan and Thompson, but 8th place in the conference, a losing season - still not great. We'll see what he does with his own players...
