Yeah, apparently we hired an assistant in the last couple of years that's the BITB when it comes to recruiting and it's already showing with some of the classes we have coming in. -Via scout/hs coach of mine. Can't remember the coaches name.
So does this mean we don't have to fire Brad just yet?
Sounds like he was making the case that it would be a bad idea if we did right now. I guess we just hired the delonte hill of college baseball.

this guy probs

Yup. Just read back through my texts. He sent me a pic at one of the games and I said to him "Sweet! Who are you scouting? I'm kinda down on Coach Hill coach.  :frown:"

and then he said...

They are going to be really good in two years. They just got one of the games best recruiters back in Andy Sawyers. He is the one who brought in Kivett/kings/conlon/Marshall. The guys that put you on the map. They aren't a good club this year. Too young.

'sup, guys?

Mike Clements is gone. Andy Sawyers is back.

 :Wha:

Yea this is a big deal, assuming there is actually going to be talent here to coach.

 I went and looked at the recruiting rankings and we still look pretty light in that area. He might need to Brad some ppl to let Andy do his thing.

Looks like were losing incoming pitcher Cole Duensing out of Blue Valley Northwest. He was a 6th round pick by the Angels. Should be the only incoming recruit we lose to pro ball.

TTU and OKST have punched tickets to Omaha today.  If TCU hangs on they will be going for the third year in a row.  We could have 1/3 of our league members playing in the CWS.

I won't post it here out of respect for Brad but that GIF of the TTU player dolphin flopping onto the pile at the end is an unbelievable work of art.

Watching TCU-ATM last night the announcers were lamenting lack of seeding in baseball tournament.  Said the baseball tournament was second most profitable tournament the NCAA hosts so it should not be due to budget.

It is strange that the NCAA gives 16 teams a seed in volleyball and softball, but not baseball.

Also, "second most profitable" is a little deceiving... The men's basketball tourney earns like 90% of the NCAA's annual revenue.

Fantastic that both OSU and TCU beat SEC teams, particularly aTm.   Not thrilled that Tech beat ECU, but at least they're a B12 team.

NCAA tourney baseball is a lot of fun. Would truly enjoy if the Cats could be around for it more often.

Unfortunately, they maybe our best shot at making a tourney next year.  #brucessucks

Coastal Carolina has a D1 National Championship in one of the 3 major sports, in my lifetime.

COASTAL CARO-rough ridin'-LINA

(I know they recruit a lot better than K-State, but still)

Summer Updates:
Associate Head Coach and hitting instructor Andy Sawyers left to become the Head Coach of Southeast Missouri State. Mitch Gaspard, recent Head Coach of Alabama who resigned at the end of the season, was hired to replace him.
We lost one incoming recruit to the MLB draft in Cole Duensing who was a 6th round pick by the Angels who signed for $501k. Everyone else made it to campus.
Incoming freshman that will likely see significant playing time this season from what Im hearing is 6'6 290lb (not a typo, i dont care what his rivals page says he is) RHP Kasey Ford and Outfielder Will Brennan who was named co Kansas HS player of the year and was selected to the mid-plains summer league all-star team.
