I was watching Long Beach St. vs UCSB on espn3 tonight & towards the end of the game the announcers said that Big West baseball starts Friday & that Cal Poly faces K-State which can be watched on espn3. They are. I just assumed it was like every other sport and anything outside the top 25 didn't really matter. Is that not true?

i don't know very much about baseball, but i've assumed it's similar to international soccer as far as rankings go...

Depending on which poll you use, they either rank the top 25 or top 35. Cal poly is at #27 an the pitcher they have throwing tonight is one of the best in the country.
