Absolutely dreadful 2-1 loss to St. Thomas last night. Shutout until the ninth inning, had second and third with zero outs and couldn't capitalize. Four hits against a team with a 6.97 ERA. They were 1-13 entering the game last night on an 11-game losing streak with their only win of the year against Cal-State Baksersfield (who also stinks). And, for added insult, this is a school that was a non-scholarship D3 program two years ago.

For anyone who doesn't hate themselves, this can be the official jumping off point for paying any attention to the 2023 Bat Cats.

Oklahoma is not great, but it waw nice to see us cone back from being down four in the 8th today to pick up the sweep. Smaller said it was the first time we've swept Oklahoma since 1990.

Looking like Jackson Wentworth is the real deal. Glad he is succeeding after having to take last year off.

I don't think you were, but were you being sarcastic? I totally get coming back from injury, but Wentworth's made it past the fourth inning one time in six starts (Stonehill) and he's at nearly 2.00 WHIP with an ERA over 7 an opp BA of .356. Maybe he'll get there, but he's the weak link among the starters right now (with Fajardo not too far ahead of Wentworth).

After a bad start in his first game of the year against SFA, Boerema has actually pitched well ever since (and that includes giving up only 1 run in 4 IP to LSU). In fact, he's actually given up 1 or 0 runs in every start since SFA (which also includes Baylor and OU) - not too shabby for a D3 transfer.

He unfortunately is a year behind with his stuff. Think he will have a stint with Driveline this summer which I think will help him.

He unfortunately is a year behind with his stuff. Think he will have a stint with Driveline this summer which I think will help him.

Full disclosure, I have no idea what start that message was after.
I think what I saw in his tape was much better than what I saw earlier at Round Rock. I personally think he will hit his stride by the end of the month.
He relies on his movement as bait then smokes with his change or fastball.
His stats are rough obviously and he isn't quite comfortable yet but that is expected.

I hope he gets on track - could really use the extra arm. I thought it was odd that he didn't pitch at all during the KU series last weekend, particularly given the slugfest on Sunday. But, it looks like they were saving him for WSU tonight.

Watched the win last night vs UCI. A better watch than the Royals at this point. UCI announcer was well versed in everything cats.

Unlike a lot of schools it was a pretty good production, and K-State has a pretty good production as well.

With KU you get terrible camera work and mostly solo Brian Hanni whining about stuff.
