beems, you're not being very ad astra here.

Kansas is a great place to be from... not a great place to be.
that's a pretty horrible thing to say.

Well, it's the truth.  I assume you have never lived anywhere other than Kansas, right?  I'm not saying it's a horrible place to be.  Just not great.

Kansas is a great place to be from... not a great place to be.

This is why K-State is all  :emawkid: and KU is all  :bawl: ...  Because K-state grads are all  :kstategrad: and get all the good in-state jobs while KU grads have to go rattle a can out of state.   Who'd chose to go to a university where you know your future would closely resemble the road warrior or the postman?

You must laugh a little inside when ku people force visitors to proclaim Lawrence to be an "awesome" place.

Lawrence is pretty awesome for a small college town. I wish Poyntz was more like Mass St. But they also don't have anything like aggieville in lawrence.

Not at all.  I literally just said that "Kansas is a great place to be from."  I loved growing up in Kansas and going to school there.  I just wouldn't want to necessarily live there for the rest of my life, especially after experiencing the West coast.

How do they "force" them to proclaim Lawrence is awesome?

The communist hippies in Lawrence spike their drinks with mind-control LSD drugs that force tourists to be the communist's mouth piece until the release word is spoken to them.

IIRC, the only places in Kansas you've lived are Topeka and Lawrence, the two poorest  andshittiest cities in Kansas.

Obviously your view of Kansas is terribly misinformed and slanted.  Like saying California is horrible when the places you've lived are Sacramento and Modesto.

No it's not the truth.  Kansas is a terrific place to live.  Sorry it doesn't have a killer alt music scene or a mountain or whatever it is that makes the Pacific Northwest so damn attractive.

I don't currently live in Kansas, fwiw.

I watched a portland timber's game once... ended in a 1-1 tie... everyone calmly got up and walked out of the stadium after paying good money to watch the turd that was un-ironically referred to as a sporting event... no riots or anything.  I was very disappointed.

I could probably write an entire novel on everything that I detest about the west coast.
