Tech is ridiculously awful and chalking up close losses as morale victories is a sign of a loser.  If you play terrible on the road that means you can't beat an averagish team on the road.  Playing them close is stupid.

We didn't get "whooped."  Nobody is chalking moral victories up for playing them close either.  We lost.  Thats a result.  "Playing them close" or getting "whooped" is not.

to qualify for coach of the year consideration, you actually have to do some coaching.  it's this minor detail that will exclude hoiberg from being mentioned in coy discussions.

Must be why he shared that honor last year huh?

it's obvious to anyone without mold on their brain that royce white won a share of the big 12 coy award last year.  hoiberg had nothing to do with it.

Well, the coaches picked Hoiberg's squad to be 8th in the Big 12 at the start of the year.  Should he finish top three, I think he gets it if the vote comes from the same coaches.  The only caveat would be if someone knock off KU for the conference title, that would trump Hoiberg.  ISU has not won on the road, but we have not played poorly on the road.  Last second three against KU sends it to OT.  Had a 4 point lead at OSU with a minute and a half left.  The only clunker was the Tech game, but that game saw ISU have two of their best players saddled with fouls and nearly every other player have one of their worst games of the year.  If only one would have been above average, ISU would have won.  And with all that, we lost by five whole points.  But the fact remains, have to win some road games.
