The Mayor gets my vote.

The fact that ISU is the only upper half Big 12 team that has lost to Tech or TCU makes it tough for me, but the season is still young.

I would say its between oscar and Ford as we near the halfway point.

I would say that's bullshit.

As an OSU fan I don't care much for Ford either, but I am starting to tolerate him a little better after yesterday.

Its hard to argue with what he's done so far this year. It is weird that our 2 games against each other will be over 2 months apart.

He seems to be getting everyone to buy in except Nash, who is very inconsistent and at times seems detached.   Yesterday's offensive output was an outlier, especially by Markel Brown.
I think we match up better with KSU and most Big 12 teams when Nash plays the 4, but who knows which Nash will decide to show up.

how can you watch Nash and Jurick every game? I couldnt do it.

ISU isn't going to finish much above .500 in conference if they don't figure out how to win on the road.   It's like 2 totally different teams with them.

With Bill Self and the 'Hawks in a complete tailspin, he basically has zero competition.

Yeah 19-2 is clearly a tailspin.  The Hawks certainly have some issues they need to get worked out, but a tailspin.  Come on man, lose the purple tinted glasses.

word on the street is that Bill has completely lost the team. Maybe referring to players as babies in the media wasn't such a good idea. :dunno:

My friend who is friends with a KU player (won't use names, but lets just say he doesn't play much and is related to someone on the staff), said that their was a lot of in-fighting in the lockerroom after the game.  I think he actually said tailspin, but I don't recall exactly.

Seems like Self has had this come up a few times after a loss (which have been rare in Big 12 play), especially after Wooly beat them. However, he's always been able to bring a team back together. I suppose part of me would say that he's due to have a season where he really loses a group, but his track record at KU makes it hard for me to believe it will really happen.

Well I'm certainly not taking it awesome.  :barf: about sums it up. I am not taking it so bad that I am throwing this whole season away.

It is real cute that you think the season is done.  Bring that nonsense when KSU makes it further than KU in the tourney.

Well, the coaches picked Hoiberg's squad to be 8th in the Big 12 at the start of the year.  Should he finish top three, I think he gets it if the vote comes from the same coaches.  The only caveat would be if someone knock off KU for the conference title, that would trump Hoiberg.  ISU has not won on the road, but we have not played poorly on the road.  Last second three against KU sends it to OT.  Had a 4 point lead at OSU with a minute and a half left.  The only clunker was the Tech game, but that game saw ISU have two of their best players saddled with fouls and nearly every other player have one of their worst games of the year.  If only one would have been above average, ISU would have won.  And with all that, we lost by five whole points.  But the fact remains, have to win some road games.

Yeah, and if K-State was "above average" (whatever that means) we beat you in Ames. Plus our PG was "saddled with fouls" and only played 18 minutes. It happens on the road. You are who you are, and when you rely on the 3 as much as ISU does games like Tech are going to happen. That said, ISU is a solid, NCAA team and if ISU finishes top 3 Hoiberg will get strong consideration for COY.

to qualify for coach of the year consideration, you actually have to do some coaching.  it's this minor detail that will exclude hoiberg from being mentioned in coy discussions.

It means, if one of our players had played above his season average for points/rebounds, ISU would likely have won, but nearly every player shot worse, rebounded less and scored less than what they had all year.  Would have only taken one above average performance to make a difference IMO.

And I am not trying to convince anyone ISU is better than what they are, just responding to the person's comments that ISU has played terrible on the road.  We have only once played terrible on the road, we just haven't been able to win the close ones.  We played very well at OSU and KU, just not good enough.  The Tech game is the only real clunker.

Yeah, and if Will scores his average against KU and Rod scores 5 over his average against ISU we win both of those games right?  Your point is dumb farmermoldy
