:horrorsurprise: Wow, rare to see something post anything that racist. I thought they tended to stick to just forwarding an email to other people that's already been forwarded 20 times.

Pretty safe to assume anything involving obamaphones has a racist slant.

You're assumptions are equally, perhaps more, racist.

I think you just haven't seen how republicans use the obamaphone talking point on facebook or news article comments (other message boards political sections too).   99 percent of the time it is brought up in some racist snide comment.

Not really. Black people in the USA faced a centuries long campaign to deny them equal rights, and comparing them to gorillas/implying they are lesser humans was part of it. Poor whites who are on welfare, on the other hand, have not faced any type of campaign to paint them as lesser humans that are similar to gorillas.

And hey, look at this - http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=obama+phone

Why, its almost as if when you talk about poor people getting free cell phones, nearly every conservative in the USA imagines a black person. I wonder why?

Yes. Enjoyed this. "Being prejudiced against us for being prejudiced against you is hypocritical".
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

So to know if it's racist we must know the intent of the original poster?  Or must every individual accept the point of view of the perceived majority?

I always enjoy a good reference to what the Nazis did in Germany when comparing it to US laws.  You can laminate that card and put it in your wallet because you'll be able to pull that out forever.

Fair enough.  I didn't see it as racist but I can see how others would jump to that conclusion.  But I've been exposed to more white trash than I'd care to admit.

I think the only controversy is that we give 2.5 billion a year to carlos slim to provide phones.

This was the same person that posted the "Why we need guns" pic.  I'm she's more white trash and mad at Obama rather than racist, though, I'll admit, I thought of this post as more racist than anti-Obama.
