That you don't like it as much because of where you first saw it is a problem imo. Probably went into it with preconceived ideas based off of that.  I think it's a fun riff but am more interested to see what he does from here.

hate to break it to you, but the fact that people had preconceived ideas about who was sharing it is the primary driver of why it's so popular and how it came to you.
