No doubt that churches do lots of actual good as well, I don't think that is in dispute.

Yeah, it's not hurting anyone. If anything, faith and prayer has a way of bringing ppl together. Example: See some of the survivors in Houston losing all of their crap who are staying positive because "I thank god, he'll get us through this, and he helped me and my boy stay alive today". It's self meditation for ppl with faith. Helped my mom stay positive during her cancer and torn retina scares last year. It doesn't hurt anything.

Prayer can have wonderful psychological effects for the person praying, but again that's not related to the issue raised by those memes
