i googled brownback's daughter and came across one story about his youngest that said she prefers to use the surname brown in school to disassociate herself.

very funny and at least a little sad.

She was the editor of the collegian when I was in school. When Snyder retired, she allowed in bold letters, the newspaper to release as SYNDER RETIRES. We laughed about it one of our journo classes and she got so pissed. It was a riot.

I've got a friend from Texas who is very proud of his Mexican heritage but looks about as white as those folks.
