Is there such thing as being TOO big?

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Just imagine the pregame intros and our gigantic Octatron going nuts.

those aisles are roughly 15 feet wide, so each side of that video board has to be around 45-50 feet*

The aisles are more like 10 feet.  Maybe less.  Still, that thing is f'n huge.

am i missing something? the drastic size change doesnt really resonate in the renderings. did they go another direction from what was previously released?

It's really not that drastic, the biggest difference is that the entirety of the new board is an LED video screen and is heavier so it needs a more robust infrastructure or as I like to say a jail cell for giant people.

look at the 2013 on the banner on top

and the distance to the white sign below it.

Granted some of that on the bottom is due to the slope of the sides.

the actual screen is what the pictures were of for the old board. the new screens are much much bigger. the entire thing is roughly the same size (including the scoreboard and everything)

I think the comparo makes it look 3-4 times the size :dunno:

the old frame you saw on the ground is only for the video board portion. the new frame is entirely video board.

The renderings are misleading.  The new overall scoreboard is more than double the size of the old one.
