Per Pro Football Focus, Kansas State redshirt junior T Dalton Risner posted an overall grade of 91.3 during the 2017 season.

No returning offensive tackle graded out better than Risner last year. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder has extensive starting experience at both center and right tackle. He earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition from a number of outlets -- including conference coaches, ESPN, Phil Steele and Pro Football Focus -- for his work at the latter position in 2017. Earlier this offseason, the Worldwide Leader's Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Risner as the No. 5 underclassman tackle prospect in the prospective 2019 draft pool.

Uhhh... Did we change conferences?
Man, the Squawks are going to be so pissed.
He's just that good that they decided he needed to be on their list too.

Still wish Pringle would have stuck around for his senior year, but this is pretty cool. Really hope he makes it.

Really seems like he could've caught that with both hands.

Pro Football Focus grades Kansas State redshirt junior T Dalton Risner as the top tackle in the 2019 draft.

Risner has been an elite blocker according to PFF, earning a 91.3 grade in 2017. Ranked behind Risner in the top five are Alabama's Jonah Williams, Oklahoma's Bobby Evans, Clemson's Mitch Hyatt and Wisconsin's David Edwards. PFF notes that Risner is "one of the most technically-sound offensive linemen in this class." There are concerns about him as a pro prospect -- PFF admits he hasn't faced elite competition while with the Wildcats -- but he's an analytical darling who will likely go (relatively) high because of his strong numbers.

The Draft Network's Kyle Crabbs' projects Kansas State redshirt junior T Dalton Risner to be selected at No. 14 in his latest mock draft.

Risner is the third offensive lineman drafted in this scenario, behind Alabama's Jonah Williams and Washington's Trey Adams. Crabbs seems to be higher on this offensive line class in general and says Risner is "versatile" with a "solid foundation." He also mentions his "skills as a puller" a potential good fit in offense like the Tennessee Titans. Risner also received the highest grade among all tackles last season according to Pro Football Focus' numbers. A strong 2018 should solidify his standing as one of the top offensive lineman in the draft.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Kansas State redshirt junior T Dalton Risner a sixth-to-seventh round grade coming into the 2018 season.

Pauline lists Risner as a guard prospect, meaning that he believes that he'll need to move inside at the next level. That's not necessarily a common belief, as Pro Football Focus has graded him as the top tackle in the draft -- analytically, of course -- and he's had some first-round projections in recent (and way too early) mock drafts. "Rissner is quick, relatively mobile and shows ability blocking in motion," Pauline writes. It'll be interesting to see how the redshirt junior's stock shapes up as the season progresses.

Draft community appears divided on our guy, Dalton.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes that Kansas State redshirt sophomore CB AJ Parker has "next level" potential.

As Pauline notes, the Wildcats have produced several cornerbacks to the NFL, and Parker has a chance to be next. "Parker is a good athlete with solid ball skills and someone who displayed a lot of ability at times in 2017," he writes. At 5-foot-11, 178-pounds, Parker may not be big enough to play on the outside in the NFL, but the skill set could play well as a nickel; a position that gets more and more valuable every year.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline lists Kansas State redshirt junior T Scott Frantz as a fourth-round prospect coming into the 2018 season.

Frantz is the top-ranked NFL prospect on the Kansas State roster, in the eyes of Pauline. He notes that the redshirt junior does a good job at taking the proper angles, and his footwork and upper-body strength combine to make him a solid prospect at the left tackle position. Pauline does note that he needs to improve his knee bend and create more leverage, but if he can do those things, he has a chance to be a top 100 pick.

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline lists Kansas State senior CB Duke Shelley as one of the top risers from Week 7 after his performance against Oklahoma State.

Shelley (5'9/180) was excellent against the Cowboys, and Pro Football Focus was also highly complimentary of the senior cornerback's effort. "It was a breakout game for Shelley who entered the season graded as a priority free agent but played non-descript football the first month," Pauline writes. "Shelley measures under 5-feet, 9-inches which puts him at a disadvantage but offers solid ball skills and ability as a return specialist." Pauline believes that Kelley could be a dime back at the next level, and also contribute on special teams.

Do you think K-State fans have an above average interest in our former players in the NFL? I often wonder about this. Or do you think it's just that schools with less players in the NFL care more about them because it's easier to keep track of them?

Also, I think it's great that everyone who has any interest in the NFL loves all of our players. It makes me feel warm inside.

The latter.  Also, a lot of our NFLers were native Kansans so that helps some too.

I like it when the members of the starting line up say their name and what school they're from during a game and they show our guy and he says K-State.

I like how Aqib Talib says his high school

Glad he got his shot.  Bummer he made less than 60% of his FG attempts.

The Athletic's Dane Brugler expects to see Kansas State OL Dalton Risner at both guard positions and at center during Senior Bowl practices.

Risner (6'5/308) started his collegiate career at center before heading to right tackle, but it seems like he's headed towards kicking back inside for his NFL career. NFL scouts told Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline that Risner is a seventh-round prospect, but that feels really low. Perhaps the scouts gave him a Round 7 grade as a tackle, and he'll be graded higher at center or guard. Brugler currently has Risner ranked as the second best center prospect, so a strong showing at the Senior Bowl should put him on the Day 2/3 borderline at least.

WTF...didn't somebody post on here a few days ago that he'd be the 7th pick in the first round according to one site???
