This was a meaningless game. I bet Snyder would've rather had practice.

pretty bad day for team waters. but, luckily, team waters doesn't really exist at this point, so they should be alright.

So, I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to sit down and watch the replay in a few days.  Couldn't see the game tonight, but I figured that I'd catch the replay.

I'm guessing I should spend those few hours doing something different?

They'll talk about his 19 yard run as evidence that he is a good runner but completely ignore that he had 2 players wide open for touchdowns but his panic in the pocket and happy feet didn't allow him to see them.

They'll talk about his TD pass to Hubert but ignore the fact that everyone in the stadium saw him open before Waters did, the crowd yelled for the pass before it was delivered, he was nearly late with the ball.

The Gronk play was awesome, great play design, would be nice if both QBs in this platoon had innovative playcalls to work with.

Yes, plenty of questions going into league play. But this is a down year for the league.

Waters' INT was awful witch was enough to be upset about. He did okay after. Sams is just an explosive player and does things you can't coach.

I acutally talked to Bishop on 2 occasions.  Please give reasoning why u think a wall is smarter.   Some people on here don't know what "smarts" or "ignorance" really are.

bishop was without a doubt one of the smartest fball players i ever played bball with.  and i'm not  primarily saying that to insult other fball players.  i never really understood how his reputation for stupidity came about.
the rumor is, and I've heard this from multiple people but nobody that actually played with bish, that he couldn't read defenses and justin swift had to call the audibles for him. so that's probably where his reputation comes from. :dunno:

When I was in line at the restroom a tuck was very loudly stating for all to hear that Sams is always late to practice so he doesnt deserve snaps.

Torrell Miller hasnt done Waters any favors.  That drop yesterday looked like that scene from Necessary Roughness at open tryouts in the gym, and his facemask interception last week was equally bad.

Twice last night we called timeouts from the sidelines, presumably because Sam's wasn't in "the right play".

I dunno, I want Sam's to at least have the opportunity pass a little more because we're not going to win many conf games with him running power all game, but when Waters calms down he is pretty goddamn good.

Wrong thread, but the o-line looked as good as they had all year last night after the first quarter.  Gronk is a shitty blocking fullback right now, which hurts.

The right play is the one where Sams is in at QB.

How many wrong  reads did Mr. Int have?  And this after getting substantially more game series and work over the past 3 weeks.

Jake has had 3 games to establish himself as a QB.  He has been given I would guess about 75% of the snaps...and he has 5td's and 5 int's.  It is time for something new.

The problem with Waters:

He's not a prototypical 6'5", 230 lb pocket passer with a rocket arm who can use every inch of the field.  He can be fairly accurate on short passes and has decent speed to buy time in the pocket.  His problem is that when he buys time in the pocket he doesn't see down field.  He doesn't have "it."  Todd Reesing had "it".  Manziel has "it". He doesn't.  To be effective with his physical limitations he needs to be able to find guys down field when a play breaks down. So far I haven't seen that ability consistently at all.   :th_twocents:

He hit McDonald in the tits (dropped) on a scramble last night and had several in week one.  Last night he missed some guys down field on a couplenscrambles but also picked up about 35 yards on the ground on those plays.

He needs to do better though

BYU - 550 yds
Ole Miss - 191 yds (and they are still in the 4th qtr)

But feel free to trot Mr. Int out there.  eff u bill.

Just to update this:  ole miss ran for 272 yards.

I believe Mr. INT's ypc on the season is 3.7

Sams is 7.5

Sams has no fumbles, no int's.

Hilarious because after that drop I decided that I'm going to call him Featherstone for the rest of the season. The pass was a little behind him but he shouldn't have mangled it like that.

False assumption. When they send Sams in they haven't been sending him with a play, so he subs in, goes to the huddle, looks over to get the play, calls the play and breaks the huddle. When they do that QB swap they are getting to the line usually at 7 seconds or less left on the play clock. Don't make Sams out to be an idiot, blame the coaches for not sending him in with a play. We've had clock issues for two decades and you want to lay the blame on #life? Come on man!

Waters averaged 8.2 YPC last night.

I've already addressed this but he had happy feet in the pocket and he missed two wide open receivers on that 19 yard run he had.
