Last night, around midnight, #LIFE tweeted " :) :) :) :) :) :)"

Not sure what that meant, but doesn't sound like the tweet of a man who just suffered a semi-serious injury.

 :dunno:

it could be the tweet of someone trying to stay positive in the face of adversity

It was in response to this

Bam9? october 23 ?@Bam_N_DeyMouth  9h
I think god know if I get my hands on ha ima b all n ha ribs that's y he stopping dis

Daniel #Life Sams ?@DS4ms  9h
@Bam_N_DeyMouth  :) :) :) :) :) :)

No it wasn't... that response was 5 "crying laughing" emoji's.

The tweet I referenced was 6 stand alone smiley faces not directed to anybody, but a top level tweet at 9:41pm.  I had mistakenly remembered it being later that I'd seen it when posting about it earlier.

I just want minor details so my stress and blood pressure level go down.  Not knowing is the worst part.  Plus, if I have to redirect my allegiance to SpiralDeliverySystem.XXX, I need to mentally prepare myself.

Guys... good news and bad news.... Confirmed sighting of #life at the commerce bank in the student union.... on crutches...that's the bad news.... Good news is that it did not look serious (did not see a brace or anything), so let's hope for the best.

Ankle sprain, perhaps?

so long as he's okay by conference play, we'll be fine.

if Spiral Delivery System.com goes down, heaven forbid, Mr. Touchdown could beat the non-con losers we face in his sleep.

Turf toe could be bad news. Let's hope it's not that.

Nah, We are going to have a two quarterback system. Not the sucky kind where you have two quarterbacks because neither one is truly good enough to start. The elite rare version where both quarterbacks are so good you can't keep one of them off the field for an entire game. We are truely blessed.

Really? Has he already had the surgery or something? Is 3 weeks a normal recovery time for something like that?

That's what I asked too.  But that is all the information I got.  It must not be that bad of a tear.

I do know that a tear is better than a strain in terms of recovery time, but 3 weeks? Man, science is great.

Could be an MCL sprain, rather than a tear...  Which the recovery/rehab time would be similar to an ankle sprain.  "Could go" in 3 weeks, would probably want to hold him out a bit longer to heal properly so as not to re-aggravate the injury and have season long issues.

Quote
Grade 1 Tear

1) What is it: A few of the fibres (less than 10%) are damaged

2) Symptoms: It is usually tender on the inner side of the knee especially when any pressure is put through the region and bruising/swelling may develop over the first couple of days

3) Treatment: PRICE - protect, rest, ice, compression and elevation. Click the link to find out how to use it safely and effectively

4) Recovery: A grade 1 MCL tear usually heals itself within a couple of weeks

Grade 2 Tear

1) What is it: Many fibres are damaged but the ligament is still intact

2) Symptoms: There may be medial knee pain with a moderate amount of swelling and bruising (which appear in the first 48 hours), and the knee may feel slightly unstable

3) Treatment: PRICE first. May also benefit from tubigrip or a hinged knee brace in the short term if the knee is giving way to help provide stability and prevent further injury. Ultrasound treatment and deep tissue friction massage can also help reduce pain and speed up healing. This is usually carried out by a physical therapist or sports therapist

4) Recovery: Symptoms normally settle down within 4-6 weeks
