I get people wanting Sams to start. I don't get making Waters the football version of Sprads.

Jake Waters tonight looked like a below average big 12 quarterback. Maybe average, but definitely not above average.

this.

though I will say that bill & co need to pull their rough ridin' heads out of their ass when it comes to realizing what they have in waters.  just throw the rough ridin' ball.  like every down when he's in.  maybe slip in a run once every 7 plays.  AND do that even when we're up 34-10.  Cause the offense sucks at running the ball when he's in.  and he makes it suckier when he tries to run it.

Waters makes some good throws no doubt, but he has to because the defense is only thinking pass.  Sams doesn't have to make those perfect throws because his run threat will open up receivers, see Collin Klein, DUH!

Yeah, he's accurate but doesn't have a cannon. He's made some good throws on the run, but doesn't have great pocket presence or running ability. He's been smart with the ball for the most part but also made a couple really dumb throws.  Definition of average QB. Just because he throws a prettier ball than Collin or life doesn't mean crap.

Option with Waters on 4th and 1.

Read option in the red zone with no time outs and less than 1 minute in the half.

I don't even....

exactly.  it's just awful.  Sams must just be the worst at reading any coverage in the history of football at any level to not get the nod.  I mean, he must have some weird disease where he goes blind when he takes a drop of greater than 3 steps.  cause he's ridiculous when he runs with the ball (though the way he carries it, he's going to fumble it, just hope it isn't at a crucial moment).

Waters' arm is legit.  I love it.  Like, love love.  But he runs worse than any qb that I have seen at ksu since I started to pay attention, back ups included.  I just don't thinl we can afford to be that one dimensional.  Sams may not have a comparable arm, but it doesn't have to be anything more than average given what he can do with the rest of his game

it was pretty great when Sams was using the football to point out defenders for his blockers to pick up

yeah, and unbutton your pants cause here comes the tuck, but that's probably why Waters is starting. I mean that's the reason we were given, right? Waters being more advanced with the playbook/"game management".

Like, I'm sure Snyds would just start Sams if that wasn't the case. I think.

So far this season, KSU has scored 7 touchdowns.   Waters has only been on the field for 3 of them.   How can anyone defend him?

I thought Waters and Sams played pretty well tonight, maybe I'm some kind of dumbass  :dunno: The offense can't make our defense suck less, guys.

It can by running the ball and putting its suckiness on the field less.

The defense really didn't play that bad tonight. Waters handed Lafayette 10 points with his turnovers, and the special teams unit gave up another 7. Plus the defense scored 7.

Waters is crazy accurate guys, he doesn't get rattled when pressure comes either. Nice pocket presence and can usually elude pressure. A couple of his interceptions are confusing though, both awful throws deep in our own territory right to the defender. Snyd's is downright scared to try and throw with Life and it shows. See OSU game last year and NDSU/ULL

first half was pretty nice defensively, only 3 points given up because of a turnover and I think UL was at like 160ish yards.

waters should be the qb between the 30's.  sams inside the 30's.

Waters was born to be a back-up. He has it.
