Overall company is up YoY and ahead of budget. Same for division. My segment is struggling in one product line but outpacing the market in the other two.

Eurocat ended up being eurocat from a similar situation I think.  Hopefully that happens to 8man too.

Sales are up year to year. Ahead of budget too. I work for OEM owned HVAC distribution. Industry is trailing us. We're hiring across the country in manufacturing and distribution.

Global warming, or cooling. You're in the right industry.

wish the company i work for would lay some people off.  instead, the dumbasses keep hiring people.

company is prolly in decent shape through 2020, but who knows?

:frown: A bunch at my company today. The shortest tenured in a group of five didn't have much of a chance.

Anyone hiring mechanical engineers?

B/V and B/M are hiring like crazy right now in KC. I'm a mechanical engineer at another firm and both have contacted me about coming over. Worth a shot right?

8man, would you consider a different industry?  The big consulting firms hire loads of engineers and just train them to do whatever (e.g. accounting software, programming, etc).

A smart company would let the MOST tenured engineer go.

it's a blessing in disguise.  you'll learn from this shitty experience and be better off down the road, just gotta get through it.

we did about $12-13mil in volume last year and this.   About $10mil of that is me this year, about 7-8mil last.   So, I feel okay.

I was laid off 10 months after graduating (last one hired first one fired bullshit).  Best thing that ever happened to me.  As Clams said, blessing in disguise.

Any consulting firm that specializes in JD Edwards implementations (or EBS or PeopleSoft for that matter).
Ceder Crest Stone, consulting and hosted services

Cerner's Consulting (pay like crap to start, but you will make BANK later)
GE Medical Systems Consulting (same story as Cerner)

Thanks for the kind words friends. As long as the job search goes okay, I'm not too bummed. Pay was decent, people were good, but the work wasn't that great and the business environment want particularly enjoyable. Writing was sort of on the wall. Our group thought we were fairly safe, but hadn't had much to do for a month or so (:shakesfist: shifty sales people). Last one in, first one out...
