I worked in the dorm cafeteria for about 2 weeks when at K-State. Back then, they had a milk machine that would fill up a glass with milk. Above the red button was a sign that said "Push Button Once". Whether people couldn't read or just wanted to be assholes, I don't know but my job was to mop up that milk that would go all over the floor after someone would push the button multiple times and then walk away when their cup was full.  And I'm not sure why a hair net was required for me to mop up milk for four hours a morning.

You don't think I had to clean up a crazy amount of milk in my life? I grew up on a dairy farm!
I am sorry for jacking this thread, but so far, I win hands down.

Worst job ever was a customer service rep for a cell phone company call center. People only call you if they have a problem, and you basically aren't allowed to help anyone. you just sit in a cube all day with a phone attached to your head fielding call after call after call nonstop of unhappy people. Depressing.

Worked road construction/traffic control for a summer. Hard, and hot.

I worked at some auto car company where they developed parts. My job was to loosen up wheel barrings. Some were unloose. So I'd dip it in this oil, stick my fingers in the hole, and wretch it back and forth until it came loose. I did that for 8 hours. Worst part was when I met a guy who was a grad from K-State. He was an alum over 10 years before. I was a junior at that time going "wtf?" in my head.

Yeah, I worked at a telemarketing center one summer in high school and we sold credit card insurance.  All we did most of the time was eff with the people we called.  Left a lot of crazy answering machine messages.  Sometimes we would do this gag where we pretended like we thought the person we had called had called us and get into a big back and forth about who called who.  We also had a vending machine that was like this rotating thing with little slots that had pre-made sandwiches and stuff in each one.  Pay, punch in the number, open the slot and take your thing.  Well I convinced one of the degenerates I worked with it would be funny if he bought a hotdog and then pooped in the little paper container/dish it was in and then replaced the paper container with turd in place of hotdog in the machine.  He did and it was rough ridin' hilarious to watch people cycle through the machine selections and discover that there was a turd in one of them.  Really fun.

Worked after-school and a couple of summers for a commercial hog farm, farrow-to-finish.  Think 10,000 head.  I've seen/smelled some atrocities.  Not trying to one-up you dobs, but I would've gladly switched farms.

I was also a night-time grounds keeper at a golf course one summer in high school.  Basically I was there all by myself and every 30-45 minutes I had to ride around rotating the sprinkler heads on each hole as they had shitty water pressure or something and could only have like one sprinkler head going per hole at a time.  I wrecked my golf cart once doing a ramp on one of the women's tees.  Didn't calculate the trajectory correctly and came down and hit a tree.  It bent the front fender pretty good.  I had to wail on it with a sledge hammer for a bit so it wasn't rubbing the tire when you drove it.  Nobody ever said anything about it.

Worked as a pharmaceutical technician one summer while in college. I counted pills all day long. It was really, really boring. And people were always coming in and telling us their health issues. One smelly old guy came in, took his shoes and socks off and stuck one of his feet on the counter asking me why his feet smelled like rotting ham.

Another high school summer job I had was at a scrapyard/recycling center.  Part of my job was to rip open up the bags of cans that people brought in and dump them into the can compactor machine that made these bricks of smashed cans.  Well as you can imagine you would end up being covered in old beer and pop.  It was really rough ridin' gross.  Sticky and smelly.  The dirtiest I've ever felt.

grew up on one too, prob not as big as your dairy farm.  Worst part of the smell was getting rid of it.  Used to wash my hair with toothpaste after powerwashing farrowing crates.

college pro painters was a pretty awful job.  12 hour days at 7.50 an hour for painting houses without any safety equipment.

except there was this one kid who came on our crew about halfway through the summer.  he really, really sucked at painting houses.  anyways, we were painting a house up in st. joe and for lunch we went to wendy's.  this was a time when the baconater just came out and this kid was jazzed about it. against our warnings that a baconater would not be the best choice for working in 100 degree heat, he went for it.  about an hour and a half later, he had to crap (of course) and used the bathroom via the walkout basement door.  20 minutes later he comes out, looking like he'd seen a ghost, and said "i clogged the toilet."  so he had to go to the front door and ask the lady who lived there (who was very attractive btw) if he could borrow her plunger.

I also worked at Menards the summer after my freshman year of college in Champaign.  I was in the receiving department and drove a forklift.  Most of the people that worked there were pretty depressing and it sucked because of that.  Like I was the only college guy.  It was like a suicide support group around there.

I used to work as a software engineer at this company. My boss was a total dweeb and made me write all kinds of stupid reports, like TPS reports. One day, he stole my red stapler off my desk and wouldn't answer my questions about not getting a paycheck. When I went to the payroll lady, she told her to go talk to my boss, who then told me to talk to the payroll lady. A week later, my boss made me move my office into the basement of the building. Totally sucked...

I worked for the Kansas Turnpike the summer they were installing the KTAG system.   All of the work was done standing or crawling around on a black asphalt roadway.  Was kinda fun to use some of their tools and equipment, have forklift races at the end of the day, etc......

Plus, I didn't quit because it rained a couple of days.

I performed this job for 1 day, then I quit....

I got a job at Weber Hall when I was in college, paying about twice what I could make anywhere else hourly at the time.

The job was cleaning the kill floor and meat processing labs.  You suited up in rubber scrubs and blasted scalding hot water all over everything.  It was the most vile thing I have ever experienced.  Piss, crap, guts, giant vats filled with dead cow and sheep heads and innards....

You don't shovel crap on a hog farm. Try shoveling stalls and barns on a dairy farm when the stalls were bedded with straw and then that gets mixed in with 200 tons of crap and urine. Pro-tip: SHOVELS DON'T WORK! Hog farms...phhht....except the horrible smell thing.

Also, I am so thankful for farmers, they feed the world and stuff.
