Funny story about Clinkscale. I guess he does some sort of radio show Saturday morning on 810. I'm on the road this morning and happen to tune in at 9:00. His first guest is Stan Weber, calling from Waco.

Stan gets on the phone and he's got a bad connection. Bunch of static. So Stan says, "Danny, let me call you right back." After Stan hangs up, Danny starts talking a little about Oregon and Notre Dame to fill some time, but he's very uncomfortable being off-page. He keeps pausing like he's trying to think of something to say. Goes on and off for about a minute and then there's this big long pause....

..and real quite in the background, you hear Clinkscale shout "GOD DAMMIT STAN, CALL ME BACK!"

The dude cut his mike but there must have been another live mike in the studio.

Anyway, Stan gets back on and you can tell Danny is pissed. Stan asks "does that sound better?" Danny just responds "Sounds fine, Stan." He was pissed.

Makes you wonder if they kinda pulled his arm to do so. The way that segment went, he didn't sound totally confident that he was ready to leave.

Yeah, it was a little strange. He doesn't really have a plan on what to do next and he's not retiring.

810/610 aren’t sports channels, they’re entertainment channels for guys who like sports

Meh. It is what it is. If you want the professionals, 1660 and 1510 are enjoyable for National Sports Radio. I understand why some wouldn't like the local guys tho.
