LOL, Frank.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina freshman center Laimonas Chatkevicius will miss six games after the NCAA determined he received impermissible benefits before enrolling at the school.

Gamecocks coach Frank Martin announced the suspension Sunday a few hours before the team began its season against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The NCAA ruled the 6-foot-11 Chatkevicius got benefits from his host family that weren't allowed before joining the Gamecocks. Chatkevicius is from Lithuania and played prep basketball at South Kent School in Connecticut.

Chatkevicius is among five freshmen on Martin's first team at South Carolina and is the team's tallest player. The penalty means he will not be eligible to play until Nov. 29 at St. John's.

The school also said that walk-on freshman Brian Steele was suspended because of athletic department policy.

CRAP! That's us too, guys. One of our crappy tuck donors gave him impermissible benefits, and now we'll have to take the heat.  :chainsaw: :curse:

Uh, I won't ignore this like everyone else did.  Was his host family EMAW?

It's early, but, so far, being a KState basketball fan has been way more fun since Frank left than it would have been if he'd stayed.  All of this drama is highly entertaining.

Yeah, Frank's Novembers were typically drama free. Nothing but smooth sailin'.

I guess what I said doesn't apply if you think people bitching here about defensive roatations is more fun than people bitching directly to Currie on twitter.

some may disagree, but it's going to be very entertaining to be a ksu bball bbsr this season.  much better than what we were treated to this offseason.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

I have zero Frank withdrawals.

If BW does to the bball team what Prince did to the fball team, I will want him fired. I haven't seen that so far this year (will reevaluate yearly). But I won't want Frank back.

jezuscrist, oscar's failure will be a slow one.  We know the team will be good this year.  we are just hoping predicting that the returns will diminish gradually until we're back to Wooly-era.  It may take 10 years, but I guarantee it will happen.

Frank was doing nothing on the recruiting trail that gave me any indication that we weren't in for a significant slide . . . and once again, no 7 foot project/suspect student is/was going to change my mind.

Otherwise it was pretty much swings and misses all over the map.

You really have to admire someone who chooses to ignore the parts of reality that don't support their argument. It takes a great deal of willpower, I'd imagine.

It doesn't take much will power to support the factual reality that Frank wasn't doing much on the recruiting trail, unless you call "signing" a 7 foot project who may not have even gotten into school some kind of recruiting coup?    If 2, no, arguably 3 entire classes in the heart of Frank's tenure hadn't been absolute $hit, I might not have the same viewpoint as I do now.   But the names on the recruiting ledgers don't lie.

Our entrance requirements are probably the same or about the same as fresno state, right?

Basketball seems so quiet this season. I'm not sure if I miss all the frank bullshit and mental distruction of our players especially at the beginning of the season or not.
