LOL, Frank.

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina freshman center Laimonas Chatkevicius will miss six games after the NCAA determined he received impermissible benefits before enrolling at the school.

Gamecocks coach Frank Martin announced the suspension Sunday a few hours before the team began its season against Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The NCAA ruled the 6-foot-11 Chatkevicius got benefits from his host family that weren't allowed before joining the Gamecocks. Chatkevicius is from Lithuania and played prep basketball at South Kent School in Connecticut.

Chatkevicius is among five freshmen on Martin's first team at South Carolina and is the team's tallest player. The penalty means he will not be eligible to play until Nov. 29 at St. John's.

The school also said that walk-on freshman Brian Steele was suspended because of athletic department policy.

CRAP! That's us too, guys. One of our crappy tuck donors gave him impermissible benefits, and now we'll have to take the heat.  :chainsaw: :curse:

Frank will be Frank.

Watching South Carolina at home vs. Wisc-Milwaukee on ESPN3.  Frank went absolutely ballistic on his excruciatingly un-adorbs Venezuelan forward following a set play out of a timeout in a tie-game with 15 seconds.

"You don't know what you're doing out of a goddamned timeout?!?".

The undressing continued for another ten seconds on the bench, with ESPN careful to lower the audio on the second shot of the bench, though obvious repeated f-bombs flew from his lips.

Fun watching their fans stare on in disbelief at the unbridled fury.  They did come from behind to win in OT though, 82-75.

The cupboard was bare when Frank got here, but he'll get the team there before long. Good luck this season.

I don't miss him.   :dunno:

I reserve my right to get depressed if Frank builds a powerhouse at USC and we start to suck again, but  that's honestly not what I think will happen.

he'll win a little, then move on to a better job and win a lot.  kstate won't suck like futilely praying for the nit sucking, but they aren't going to be in the tourney every year.

martin will win more games than kstate does.  counting from now until he retires.

I don't think Frank was going to build KSU into a powerhouse, and I was fine with that.

he was our brand.  the only brand we've ever had.  we'll probably never have one ever again.

Yeah, we are now Clemson or Iowa or Mississippi State or Washington State.

Have we been better than those programs over the last few years? Who knows?!?
