Our offense is fine in this game.  D is what I'm most worried about  :ohno:

If our secondary plays as smart as they did in the last game, we should be fine, but Tech is tricky. I don't like Tech. I don't like us playing them. I don't like them even existing.

well, sure.  but that doesn't mean they have a chance in hell of beating us.

Texas State avereaged 4.4 per carry on them. I hadn't even taken a look at TTech's schedule until this morning.  Umm... not exactly knocking off the 85 Bears.  :billdance:

Will they "stack the box" against us? I think they will.

Really only ISU defended us well. The 15 yards per attempt WVU gave up negates the success they had against the run. I don't see us having the negative plays/penalties against Tech that we had in Ames.

We’re going to have to throw the ball to win.  We can’t use the ISU blueprint to win (I think we stuck with the run a bit more than maybe we should have and could have gotten more out of the pass but remained conservative).  We had like 94yds at halftime vs. Tech last year and IIRC in the 2nd half, we came out throwing.  Tech is going to run blitz (and blitz in general) more than we’ve seen thus far.  I hope that maybe it will provide CK some lanes to scramble in and hurt them.  I don’t anticipate our run game to avg more than 3.7 ypc.

I agree we'll have to throw to win, but I bet we ave. more than 4.0 ypc. We'll get some things in the running game this week.

Guys I think that we should balance passing and running a bit just to keep them honest.

The key to this game is going to be scoring points. If we can outscore TT, we have a good chance of winning.

used passing between the 20's...then ran it on WVU and ISU inside the 10 yard line AT WILL....and Iowa State's run D in Ames is way better than Tech's run D outside of the Buddy Holly birthplace.
