Like I said earlier, it's Illinois, I can't put that much credence in it, and Weber had 4 Top 100's committed in his last recruiting class.

Are you going seriously going to say oscar deserved another year? That oscar had things going in the right direction, but Illinois just isn't very good at hiring/firing coaches? Because I think that's what you're trying to say here.

When a coach signs 4 Top 100 players, and he's only a year away from an NCAA tourney birth, he probably deserves some more time.   But I expect you to have zero objectivity about this.

Oh he was ONLY a year from an NCAA tourney birth? sheesh, what were those guys thinking.

Hey you got 1 out of 2 reasons I gave . . . typical cRusty.

so the previous 5 seasons where he only went to the NCAA twice and missed on the post season twice and that wasn't enough?

dax, oscar got 3 top 100 players in the '10 class and 4 top 100 players in the '11 class and went to the tourney in 10/11 and missed the post season in 11/12.  dear god.

I'm not happy he's here.  But he is.  Might as well be optimistic for now.

And more career wins and accordingly better than Frank per John Currie.

I guess Dax has a point about the issues being intertwined for some people, such as John Currie.

No, nobody's going to play that Bull$hit game with me . . . I've already made it clear I don't know if Weber is going to work out, and that I pretty much expect Tiffany Cufflinks to be pooped.   If not, then I want oscar gone, and if not Currie to boot.  I've said that early and often.

Also, please forgive if I can't help but get a little chuckle about bantering about names of Horizon League coaches who barely have .500 records after 6 years and only went to the NCAA tourney (once) because of what they inherited.    The sad little stories about how hard it is to recruit with all the other schools around when the school in question resides in a major population center, and is a stones throw from another major population center.  The talk of, "Hey he's a really solid X's and O's guy, and golly he was Horizon League coach of the year".

That's every bit the reach of a oscar Weber hire.

Listen, I was super pissed.  Still not thrilled about Weber, but screw it, I'm going to be optimistic til the wheels start to fall off (probably sometime around the preseason NIT), until then the pitchfork stays in the tool shed.

I don't expect the wheels to fall off this season.

But they will fall off.

so, time to get this thing back on the track... looks like i'm not the only one that dumped tickets after frank was told to leave and currie replaced him with a guy that just got fired. i mean, including ku tickets as part of some kind of multi-game pak? yikes.

With nothing but crap options and alleged un-hireables Brown/Pearl/Gottlieb, it's almost like Currie should've made it a priority to establish a tolerable arrangement with Frank and roll the dice with the most successful K-State coach in years.

every time you post, you make the most convincing case possible for how utterly selfish and Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) currie was for running off martin.  yet, you refuse to turn your bile-coated tounge against currie.  i'm sorry your father didn't stay with you, dax.  i'm sorry your gf left, then your next gf, then your next gf, then your next gf, then your wife, then your next wife, then your next wife.  it must be very hard to see the people you abuse constantly turning their backs on you, the ungrateful wretches.

I thought about getting some of those to secure extra ku tickets, but you're basically paying $250 for that ku game. OSU has a 5-pak that includes KSU and ku for 100.

Yeah.  Stuff must be worse than thought to include that as part of any package.

you have keep in lock step with "I hate John Currie, so I still have to crap on the basketball program" company line.

A lot of folks want to take one big continuous dump on the hoops program. I won't do it.

You have to stop this thought process, no one is dumping on the basketball program.  People are angry with the oscar Weber hire, there is a world of difference.  I am not a member of #teamburnitdown and never claimed to be but I'm not placing myself in some higher place than those that are.  Burnitdowners are season ticket holders, donors, people that will watch games, spend money on ESPN Full Court so that they can watch games, and will spend their time teeth gnashing here when they could be :emawkid: on the football board.

Don't feel sorry for me, I'm fine.   I feel sorry for you because you quite clearly invested your entire K-State fandom in a coach who was going to leave barring a pay grade increase he was in no way, shape or form deserving of . . . and who quite possibly created an atmosphere that could have spelled a PR disaster for the K-State Basketball PROGRAM.   Not only that, a guy pulling in a compensation package worth nearly $2 million dollars a year with at least 2 if not 3 recruiting classes that a dead man could have put together.

Also, if you want to talk about who inherited whose players, many of oscar Weber's Pearl's best players at UW-M were Rob Jeter recruits from when he was head recruiter for Bo Ryan there:  http://www.todaystmj4.com/blogs/lanceallan/120172559.html
