Tiki Barber and Rashard Mendenhall were chronic fumblers that fixed their issue and had/have good NFL careers.

Bryce will get better coaching in the NFL than in college. Half as many players. Twice as many coaches. Full time job. If he puts in the effort, they will fix it much quicker than the KSU staff could have. I wish him well.
He'd better fix the fumbles quickly. He has three in two starts, LeSean McCoy, who Bryce is filling in for, has three funbles in 4 years in the league. I might be wrong, but I still think the college coaches would have fixed it quicker than the pros. They have a player from two to five years and once on scholarship they will still work with him. When the pros lose confidence in a player, they will cut him so they don't have to keep paying his salary. The good news is Bryce isn't getting paid very much. The bad news is the Eagles don't have a lot invested in him and can afford to cut him loose if he is costing them games. I too hope he does get it all figured out, he is an amazing talent.

think people have seen too much talent for the eagles to simply cut him. i assume they will try and trade him for some good draft picks. it would be hard to justify giving the job to him over McCoy, even with his lackluster year.

Not the way the Eagles have worked in the past. Duece Staley got traded because Brian Westbrook came up behind him. Brian Westbrook got traded because LeSean McCoy came up behind him. With McCoy having a lackluster, injury year, it's easy for me to see them trading McCoy because of the potential Bryce has shown.

Carnes, let's enjoy this recruiting week. We can battle it out in this thread later on. For the record, I want Bryce to be a badass, but damn homie, hold on to the ball!

105 carries, 5 fumbles. Sad.

We could have turned him into a badass safety, or CB, or something.

Sheesh.

To compare, K-State ran 771 plays this year and lost 3 fumbles.

I know no one believes he spent all his time off lifting in order to get stronger.

I felt so sad for Bryce last night (only tuned into 30 seconds of the game but it was the 30 seconds when Bryce was fumbling).

I want him to do good.

He looked so sad and lost as the ball popped out of his hands.

Random comparos:

Larry Johnson 1,427 carries, 15 fumbles
LaDanian Tomlinson 3,174 carries, 21 fumbles
Priest Holmes 1,780 carries, 16 fumbles
Jamaal Charles 739 carries, 14 fumbles
Daniel Thomas 255 carries, 5 fumbles

So, if Bryce continues at his current pace and survives long enough to get roughly the same number of carries as LT, he will have amassed approx. 150 fumbles.  Word problems.

If Bryce hadn't fumbled in the 10-7 game against EKU, would we have won that game 3-0?

do we win back to back DPs with him at SS? Positively.

Do we win back to back NCs? Possibly.

Does he make more in his rookie signing bonus than he will his entire career? Likely.

The Paula Dean apologists are alive and well in the comment section, and it is beautiful. Also, that writer should be fired. Pretty much no evidence whatsoever to support the headline. Seems like he knew nothing.
