So now that i'm done with my MBA, I thought about getting a emphasis in accounting so I can make baller money and pay down my college loans. How hard is the CPA? Like how much work should I prepare for?

I'm not an accountant but I took the CPA for my brother. Wasn't that hard.

All the successful accountants I know ABSOLUTELY rough ridin' LOVE ACCOUNTING. It seems to me like the kind of job that you would be bad at AND hate if you didnt love accounting.

You should talk to stanbot about accounting. My cousin had an accounting degree, complained he couldn't make any money so went and got an MBA.

Pretty much, I know at least 4 people that are accountants and got their job within the last two years. Super pud.

also of note is that you can't sit for the CPA exam in KS without a concentration in (30 credit hours), yup, you guessed it, accounting theory & practice.

So any degree works and you only need 30 hours in accounting? This might be more doable for fanning than I thought.

Yeah, have that concentration in a pud major and just sleep through the test. BOOM, you are a CPA.

that's a good point, you only need 30 accounting hours to graduate with a acctg degree from ksu cats.

Yeah, christ I could take most of those at JOCO and have work pay for it. Rumors swirling that accountants with an MBA start anywhere from 80-100K. I want that $ you guys!

good luck finding an accounting job that will pay you 80-100k starting out as a staff accountant/associate.

You could have just gotten an engineering degree in 4 years and already be making that kind of money, no MBA, or CPA required
