Well crap, I just got a PM from a real life CPA and he says it's hard as crap. Said he's heard it's worse than the bar from his combo lawyer/CPA friends. I've thought about being a medical rep too. Maybe I should change the thread title to "Find Fanning a good career!" I want that money you guys.

You're gonna need a better reason than money. Maybe come up with a good small business?

Yeah. I mean I use to sale radio advertising. That's basically selling dead air. Nobody listens to that crap.

fanning- you are very young and have the next forty years of your life to work. calm down, take a personality test (briggs meyer) and then pick something from the list that your personality would be compatible with doing long term and sounds at least somewhat interesting to you at the same time. then set about going out and doing the things that you need to do in order to get that job.

Well I'll share something with you guys. When I was young I got bad advice. I passed up a few baseball scholarships just to be emaw. It was everything I dreamed about. However, federal loans weren't enough to cover school so my parents took out private loans for me and they don't work with ya. I feel like I have to be money driven since I won't be the next Wyatt Thompson.

How much debt do you have? Kansas will give you $15,000 just to move to a rural county.

Yeah, these are all great suggestions. Just figure 5 years at K-State in the loan amount. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to work much in college because of the radio. I'll figure it out. I haven't even looked for jobs yet where an MBA would help. I'll probably do that first before freaking out

If you can show that you’re a lost cause to society without any semblance of dignity or hope for the future, you can just discharge your loans in bankruptcy.

I think I just read some NYT article that showed people have a 57% success rate in discharging.

Edit: looks like 39% http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/01/business/shedding-student-loans-in-bankruptcy-is-an-uphill-battle.html?pagewanted=2&_r=2pagewanted=all

I know a guy who did the degree program at K-State that makes you work for the radio and now he works with teaching autistic kids how to communicate. That seems like a much better job than the radio DJamer job I had envisioned. Maybe you could do something like that.

You mentioned being a medical rep.  Do you have any interest in medicine and new medical procedures? I mean, there are a lot of pharm reps out there who make really good money and are very successful, but you have to know your crap about the drugs you're pushing.  It's not just like the movie "Love and Other Drugs".

EDIT: NVM, I forgot Fanning would probably be able to charm the pants off of any of those receptionists.  It might be just like that movie.

Saw a Dateline NBC report on how those people sometimes false report sexual abuse on behalf of the autistic kids like it's the kid that's actually saying it.  Don't do it Fanning.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.
