Yes but that has always been the case.  This year we might have a better shot with one loss if we beat Auburn and Auburn ends up as the SEC winner or the SEC at-large.

Well it hasn't always been the case that there will be a 4 team playoff.  I guess what I am saying is that in any scenario that we would make the playoffs we would have been in the BCS Championship Game anyway (i.e a #1 or #2 seed is probably the only way we get in the playoffs).

I think it is less a KSU thing than it is a Big 12 thing. The conference as a whole needs to start kicking more ass. Win some playoff games. Win it all. Piss pound schools in noncon, bowls, and the playoffs.

As it stands now, I agree with Chings. Moving forward, the conference (at least at the top) needs to elevate its game to ensure the Big 12 is always represented and maybe get two teams in down the road.

I think it depends on who the loss is to and how close it is. If we lose a close one to Auburn and they go on to win the SEC or finish in the top 3 of the conference, then I think there is no way we are left out. But if we win every game save for another blowout loss to Baylor and finish tied for the conference championship, then I don't think we get in over a two loss SEC runner up, unless it's Auburn.
