It's ryne not ryan....the tourney is average /below average this year....Talent is definitely down, talked with a coach from Lamar and he was talking about the prep school effect on juco's. The middle school team I coach we run a some spread or 1 post/ 2 post motion w/ lots of cutting (middle school defenders don't jump to ball ever!!) and was asking doc about some 1-4 sets that we use that Nebraska also runs... Izzo runs a lot of the same stuff at msu, but Nebraska's are simple and easy to use at the 8th grade level.
Nebraska has a recruit that he was watching last night from Hutch that plays at Butler CC, Caleb Walker. Kid is super athletic, but really doesn't have a position. He has gotten a ton better, used to ball with him at the Y during the summer. He can jump out of the gym, plays extremely hard, and is a fairly smart player for playing at the juco level. Defensively he can guard on ball, but struggles with ball side help. Can create, but not able to score at the rim. Scores a lot on putbacks, suprisingly a few threes (shooting has def. improved), but his biggest problem is he is 6' 4" and has no position. Probably a good recruit for Doc since they can use all the athletes the can get.
