Dalonte = Gone?
« on: March 16, 2010, 11:11:53 PM »
Talked with Keith Brown from Nevada today at the NJCAA's and he said 420K was #1 on Charlottes list....probably not anything new around here, but he thought they have wanted to get rid of Lutz for a few years and were finally able to do it this year. Just spreading the word... also got the chance to sit and chat with Doc Sattler, good guy and a quality coach, just glad he can't recruit!

Do you suppose Charlotte's boosters know that Beasley is in the NBA?   :dunno:

No but I lived in SB--goleta and if you have ever heard of or been to IV (Isla Vista) then you know a Freebird's burrito is worth 400k!

It's good for our program to move our players on to the next level and it's also good to move the assistants on to the next level as well.  If he wants it then best of luck.  I'm sure Frank will be at the very top of his list of references and wants the best for him.

Also, it's Sadler and not Sattler.

Couldn't agree more.  We really need to free up that $420k & locate a non-washed-up AAU coach to purchase.   :bball:

yes. book richardson, currently employed by arizona.  he's awesome.

no chance that charlotte takes hill off kstate's hands though.

Why so confident?

It's ryne not ryan....the tourney is average /below average this year....Talent is definitely down, talked with a coach from Lamar and he was talking about the prep school effect on juco's. The middle school team I coach we run a some spread or 1 post/ 2 post motion w/ lots of cutting (middle school defenders don't jump to ball ever!!) and was asking doc about some 1-4 sets that we use that Nebraska also runs... Izzo runs a lot of the same stuff at msu, but Nebraska's are simple and easy to use at the 8th grade level.

Nebraska has a recruit that he was watching last night from Hutch that plays at Butler CC, Caleb Walker. Kid is super athletic, but really doesn't have a position. He has gotten a ton better, used to ball with him at the Y during the summer. He can jump out of the gym, plays extremely hard, and is a fairly smart player for playing at the juco level. Defensively he can guard on ball, but struggles with ball side help. Can create, but not able to score at the rim. Scores a lot on putbacks, suprisingly a few threes (shooting has def. improved), but his biggest problem is he is 6' 4" and has no position. Probably a good recruit for Doc since they can use all the athletes the can get.

This is such an adorable description of Nebrasketball and Doc's Xs and Os  :lol:

I know it is awesome that someone at the high level uses this stuff so I can watch it in action! As gay as backdoors, curls, flares, and 1-4 is it does work, just not as well at the D1 level because of the athletes and ability to play a physical game.  Mich. St. runs this stuff almost the entire game and have had really good success with it. Difference between them and Neb? Athletes, depth and playing in the Big Ten.

Also saw Gregg Marshall there.  Nice that KSU in nowhere to be seen in SLTH Central this year! :thumbsup:

it would be nice to have some evidence that kstate is recruiting someone, somewhere.

Hopefully a nice long run in the tourney will help in that department.

to be clear, i'm not suggesting there is any evidence that kstate is being received poorly by recruits.  i'm saying there is almost no evidence that kstate is actively recruiting anyone outside the state's borders.  it's bizarre.
