My wife's cousin scheduled their wedding for Saturday night at 5 PM.  This is obviously (fart noise).

Is it acceptable to find a place where I can kind of sit incognito with an earbud in my ear while listening to the game?  I'm willing to take a bluetooth headset and pretend I'm one of "those guys" and hook it into my smart phone.

Just looking for a little advice here.  We'll be sans kids during the reception, so I'm looking for ways to sneak out and watch the game on my phone, so any thoughts there would be helpful.

TIA

If you aren't in the wedding party, it will be no big deal.  Just keep the fist pumping to inside your head and no one will even notice.

Pretend to get really really drunk.  Your wife will make you go to the car until she's ready to go.  Profit.

Unacceptable.  This kind of game requires undivided attention.

Unless we're losing by two TD's in the first, then a periodic glance after drinking a few cold brewskies will be acceptable (because the pain will have been numbed by alcohol).

Should I add "explosive", or would that be taking it too far?

I wouldn't sneak anywhere. "Congratulations, here is your gift <hand envelope with money>, I will be at the bar across the street watching the KSU Cats play. You scheduled your wedding on the same day as the biggest game in 9 years, and I can't miss it. I'll come back at halftime for the Cotton-Eyed Joe or the dollar dance. Good luck!"

Sneak away and find a television . . . you aren't an integeral part of the wedding, who is going to miss  you?

That's right . . . no one that's who.

I was married on a KSU bye week. NU played a big game that w/e. One of my buddies is an NU fan. He said, "Sorry, I'll be in Lincoln on that day." I was cool with that.

It's their fault, say eff them and do what you want.  I was a groomsman last year during the Ok St. game and left to watch the game and came back afterward.  Some people thought I was a dick, but I'd do it again.

As a married person, I would say that if someone ditched out of my wedding for whatever reason, I probably wouldn't have even noticed.

Someone who posts on this board may of been married during Clemente/Pullen KU game in Bram.  I went with earpiece/radio.  To be fair to him, he also glanced over from the altar to get score updates from me.

Get diarrhea for real.  Infect yourself with smallpox.  Break your leg.  How far are you willing to go with this?   :barf:
