When Kansans make asses of themselves, be it on issues like this, or trying to shut down perfectly legal and essential Planned Parentood type businesses, or killing abortion doctors, it makes me glad that I moved to Missouri.

I travel for work and I always rock EMAW gear when traveling...I hate the fact that some people that do see surely automatically think that I am one of those nutjobs. The dumbassery in this post shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone based on your track record, but maybe you've noticed that there's a thread on this here Kansas State message board about Penn State that is 80 pages long. I mean, my God.


SO! I have a bit of an update. A very insidery, ITK source within one department on campus--I'll let you guess which one--has confirmed that this is most definitely the same guy. Emails were sent out to higher-ups just to double and triple-check, and it most certainly is the same Joe "Dipshit" Montgomery that announces the band. Two of the three emails were immediately responded to, and one of them said this: "Yes, we are aware, and this is being dealt with at the highest levels of the university."


Here is some contact info, should you see fit to alert any of the major players in this saga of your feelings. All of these were culled from publicly available sources (i.e. University websites), so no creepiness here.

Also, it seems that most of the dissent in this thread (and the politics board one) are from people saying it doesn't matter because either people already look down at Kansas or that his job isn't important enough to make it matter. To address both in opposite order, his position is enough that when the national media brings this up they mention he works for the university. If you don't think it matters because you've given up worrying about the image of the state (fine) or the University (not fine, but your choice) then just step aside and let those of us that care continue to care and to work on doing something about this. I agree that KS is probably beyond repair, the evolution rulings in the state ruined KS for the nation and made it a laughinstock. But, Kansas State specifically hasn't been drug through the mud to the point of no repair. I'm not going to sit here and let it be without at least putting up a fight. If some crazy laughinstock is going to work for my alma mater and get national media attention for pushing his crazy crap through the legislature (citing his job at my alma mater) I'm going to at least say something about it and encourage others to do so as well.
