It started as a guy embarrassing his employer and its patrons by bringing up a political argument that never had any credence and was steeped in "butthurt" and racism.  Call it "butthurt" if you like, but the guy took a public stand on a disgusting, embarrassing position, and should not represent Kansas State University any more.

Yeah.  This isn't a case of "Univeristy of Whatever has a crackpot Political Science/History Professor..." or even "K-State employee...", this is "Kansas State University PA Announcer..."

PR-wise, this could be very embarrassing.  Like I said, this Montgomery guy is free to do whatever he wants, but he's enough of a public figure (his name is announced at K-State every week) that when he goes out of his way to make an absolutely dumbass public political statement, he needs to be held accountable.

Yeah, it is clear now. It wasn't before, making some people think it was faked. I'm not a "birther". I think the guy is stupid for continuing his fight and trying to get him removed from the ballot. I just don't think this guy is "disgusting" and "embarrassing". He's just dumb. I don't think that's reason to fire this guy. Maybe pull back the reigns on what he gets to do, but firing him seems extreme.

The university fired him from Powercat Gameday. I think they are trying to disassociate themselves from him, but they should be acting faster.
