The night Barack Obama was elected I watched my grandmother and grandfather weep with tears of joy because the reality they lived in where a black man could never hold an office such as President was erased. They grew up drinking out of different water fountains than this a$$hole. I'm blessed that I don't have to live in an American such as that. This scum is like the locusts that come around once every 7 years. And each year I cannot wait to crush them under my shoe.

He represents you whether you like it or not. When major news organizations write things like "Joe Montgomery, communications director and PA Announcer at Kansas State University, is a batshit crazy birther" it represents you and the university. Fair or not, it does.

The appeal by Joe Montgomery was to be heard by The Kansas Board of Objections, a three-person body that resolves ballot-eligibility issues. The board is comprised of Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Atty. Gen. Derek Schmidt. All three are Republicans.

The state has been completely overtaken by right wing extremist assholes.  Nice work.

The sad thing about this story is that I wouldn't be surprised at all if the committee agrees with the Prrrriiiide of Birther Land and decides to not put Obama's name on the ballot. I mean Kobach is a guaranteed yes vote, so all he would have to do is convince one of those other guys who I honestly don't know if they are crazy or not. The odds of both not being crazy nutjobs seems pretty slim, though.

It is inappropriate for someone who is a public representative of Kansas State University to take a public stand on such a divisive issues.

In my opinion, he must step down.


This was Joe Montgomery's choice to drag KSU into this.  Now KSU should choose to refuse Mr. Montgomery to do so.

So a Government agency should punish someone for what they say or do outside there professional complicity as a government employee?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

If Fred Phelps was a state employee, and did the crap he did, I would be embarrassed as eff but would defend his right to not be removed solely based on his speech.
