Correct me if I'm wrong, but does our ranking only matter at this point in case there is some huge tiebreaker for the Big 12 title and the highest BCS ranking represents the conference in a BCS bowl? And if we beat Texas our ranking won't really matter at all?
No, I can't find any scenario where the BCS would factor into the tie breaker. There are other tie-breakers that would figure out who gets the Fiesta Bowl bid before it got to BCS standings. They all include ties for 7-2 between a combo of KSU, UT, OU, and OSU, including all 4 finishing 7-2. In all of them UT wins the tiebreakers.
Also, if we beat UT our rankings don't matter. We get the bid over OU if we both finish 8-1.
Edit: I did think of 1 scenario where the BCS does play in. Its if OU beats OSU then loses to TCU.
