Mack and Bob probably have clauses in their contracts (or maybe it is just school policy) that they be paid more than other coaches around the country.  I think we could compete with T. Boone.

Hopefully the extra conference $$ would allow to afford a coach for $3.5 mill.  Would like to think we could take up and coming coaches from Big East due to conference revenue alone.

I mean if Nick Saban were to tell us he would take the job for $10 million per year, I would be absolutely fine with paying him that much. I don't think he's working here for any amount of money, though.

Well, let's get a little perspective here.    Based a USA today article in January. 

Snyder would be (Give or take a few thousand dollars in chump change for these guys):

ACC:  Tied for 4th with Beamer

Big East:  2nd Place

Big 10:  5th Place

Pac 12:  Tied for 3rd with Sarkisian (sp?)

SEC:  9th place.

We need to go into this with the mindset "Would an extra million get us a better coach?" At some point, the answer will be no and then we should just get the best guy out there, regardless of what it ends up costing us.

yeah, we did. but we aren't paying whoever we hire less than 2 million no matter how unqualified or known they are.  I mean, Currie has basically pushed his chips out onto the table.  he can't take them back now.

$2.5 million is probably gonna have to go to a title guy:  Offensive Coordinator/Associate Head Coach type at a significant D1 football school. 

There are a few head coaches @ BCS schools would might be interested if it was $2.5 to $2.7 out of the gate.
