If we get any more chips on our shoulders I am afraid they are going to fall off.

"Yet, history suggests it is unlikely for Kansas State to win 10 games again next year without increasing its score differential. Because of last season's success in close games, don't be surprised if the Wildcats win fewer games despite being a better team than a year ago."

Then we'll just increase our score differential, mmkay?

if that is the way they explain 2011 then okay.  But 2012 has nothing to do w/ 2011 since it is true that neither KSU 2012 or any of its opponents are the same teams as their 2011 selves.

weird story to justify why espn hates ksu.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

i wonder what would happen to their theory if you replaced 10-7 with 42-0 or something

Would increase scoring differential, and then our record would make sense.  Damn, too bad ku is going to be so good this year so we could increase our scoring differential further.

I wonder what they would say if a team like Oklahoma or Alabama had the exact same season K-State did last year and returned the same starters/coaches.  I'm betting we would hear a lot more about how they are going to repeat a clutch season full of big plays.

And if we go 13-0 winning the NC, will last year still be considered lucky?
I've also discovered that in all of the college football games ever won by a team another team has also lost the exact same game

Ohio State put together a decade of dominance in the Big 10 by winning by a field goal...

Can we get some math done on the probability on Snyder's turnaround part 1?  Or how about on part 2?  If these calculations were correct I'm betting we'd still be on KU's level.

I enjoy the increasingly complex attempts to explain our 2011 season.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

That's not exactly true if you're talking about Tressel ball.  Their NC season they squeaked by most all of their games, but after that they started routinely blowing out the rest of the conference and yet getting crushed in bowl games.  A strange equilibrium.  Win all of them by a hair, or win most of them by a crap ton and lose the most important one by a crap ton.  :dunno:
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

If ESPN spent as much time analyzing what team we will be in 2012 as opposed to the anomaly of 2011, they would have had enough time to actually hire some advanced statisticians that know what they're talking about and give them actual work.
