Cats' tight end McDonald being sued
Staff reports
Andre McDonald is a bit further in the doghouse.

The Kansas State tight end, who has been benched for the season-opener Saturday, had already spent five days in the county jail this summer for violating the city's dangerous dog ordinance. Now he's being sued in Riley County District Court for $60,000 by a man who says McDonald's pit bulls attacked him.

Brandon Robb of Manhattan filed the lawsuit last week. He claims that he was helping his girlfriend pet-sit McDonald's pit bulls on Dec. 23, 2011. When he was walking another dog, McDonald's dog named Zeke attacked Robb and bit him several times, the lawsuit claims.

Robb is asking for $60,000 to compensate for "past and future and suffering, past and future mental anguish, permanent disfigurement and permanent physical injuries." Robb is asking for a jury trial.

The civil lawsuit is not directly related to McDonald's violation of the city's dangerous dog ordinance, authorities said — except for one thing: McDonald was served the papers notifying him of the civil lawsuit on Aug. 23, when he was serving his time at the Riley County Jail.

K-State coach LHC Bill Snyder said Tuesday that McDonald — in addition to not playing this Saturday — has suffered consequences for his actions.

"We have to get him some friends, other than dogs," Snyder quipped during the weekly press conference. "We're working diligently on that. He has suffered some consequences and continues to suffer some consequences."

Sounds like a pet-sitting failure.

Yeah, Andre should sue the dog sitter for making his dog bite her boyfriend.

Sitting the first game.  Also, at the press conference Snyder made a funny:

"Andre made a mistake.  We've got to get him some friends other than dogs."

that's great

Any news on this guy? Did he play last night? How long will Snyder keep this monster under wraps? I noticed that he was suited up for UNT, but didn't get in.

Just waiting for us to implement the 4-TE 0-QB 0-RB formation that Snyder has in the playbook.

Tannehill played like a maniac last night and Trujillo had a very, very good block I noticed on a run in the first half.

We're very deep at TE.

Yeah it's very possible that McDonald is 100% cleared but isn't playing because he is less consistent than those two.

Idk that AM is the same caliber blocker that the other two are and while he's made some fantastic catches, he has also had some bad drops. I can't recall a drop from Tannehill or Trujillo.

Tannehill vs OSU last year, 2 in a row (one was very tough).

After golfing at Colbert today, my dad and I stopped by The Fridge liquor store for the Easter guested we have in Wamego. Andre McDonald is working there. He was ringing us up and I asked if he was ready for spring ball. He said "no sir." I asked why and he said "I'm all played out on football, sir."

I told him I hoped he found his passion because we can really use him this year and he has a ton of potential. He thanked me, spit his tobacco on a bottle, and went back to whatever he was doing on his phone.

I like how they had to have an excuse to go to the liquor store.
