I don't really watch anything with professional actors.  Real people on TV are way more entertaining to me.

1.  "reality" tv is rough ridin' terrible
2.  "reality" tv is as scripted as any other show, just terrible writers.

I doubt I enjoy any of the shows that have you all worked up, so you can chill now.

my dream is to live in santa monica and not own a car, similar but different.

Currently attempting. Have to drive to work but bike exclusively on the wknd.

big blue bus not work for you?

approx what are of santa monica do you live in?

Did the bus for about 5 months. Problem is my office is in Hollywood so I had to transfer on La Brea. Did that for as long as I could.

Live on 23rd just south of Wilshire.

ya that's kind of a pain in the ace.  too far to ride to.  motorcycle!
pro tip- the parlor in hollywood is great for watching games

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

1-Completely agree on the serial drama medium killing movies. For me it was Dexter. No turning back.

2-Also oddly agree on the live TV thing. Especially now that I'm overseas. I just feel disconnected or something otherwise.

3-My boss seriously doesn't watch TV shows. He occasionally goes to movies and watches games at bars. The rest of the time, he's this annoying dynamo that does nothing but read smart-guy books, write his own smart-guy books or articles, refinish his entire house, attend "art crawls" in different DC neighborhoods, or go fly fishing in Patagonia or some crap.

Every person I knew who didn't have a car was a pain in the ass about wanting rides or wanting to borrow your car. Nice setup for them, though, I suppose.

I've never asked anyone for a ride/asked to borrow a car.

Never since I have not had a car.

Driving is more of a hassle than walking or taking public trans.

I both love it and hate it more and more every day.

californians are utter retards.  and bay areans are like californians squared.   people think laeans are the archetypical californians, but they're wrong, it's the bayareans.

one tv, no cable, two cars.  sports on the computer, prefer to eff w. animals or message board than watch nonsports tv.

I agree with this. But I still really enjoy living here.

Oh man.  These might be worse than the "I don't have cable/TV" crowd.

They are the "I don't have cable/TV" crowd, but also have kids.  Same people, just popped a kid out and decided to impose their stupidity on their kids and that way if you steer the conversation from TV to anything kid related they are still better than you.

Yeah, quality cable management is the most overlooked problem in our society.
