Who To Vote For Based Soley On Political Ads
« on: June 29, 2012, 08:19:28 AM »
So, I live next to Iowa.  The presidential ads are out in full force here.  Don't know if it's everywhere or just here given Iowa proximety.  Anyway, I really know nothing about either of these two dorks.  I'm basing my voting decision soley on their ads effectiveness.  Please discuss ads you see in this thread and their effectiveness on making you vote for someone.  I'll start:

Mitt Romney is apparently super into shipping everyones jobs to China and India.  It seems he did this at his old company or some junk.  This was pointed at Iowa jobs and their ending up there.  eff Iowans I always say. If someone overseas can do their job better and for less who am I to stand in their way.  Point for Romney.

I'm pretty sure that 90% of jobs in Iowa have to do with the corn harvest, i dont see how you can ship those jobs overseas.

The only ad I have seen is for Tim Huelskamp. He says America is drowning in debt and that politicians are unwilling to do anything about it. Then he says that he will make sure that no funding is dropped from Medicaid and pretends like the budget will magically balance itself if you vote for him. Then some kid pops up out of a swimming pool and it's over.

With modern GIS and other engineering software, it is possible to outsource a great deal of their flood mitigation jobs, though, and it makes sense based upon how shitty their current personnel have performed. I wouldn't be surprised if the loss of these high paying jobs has many Iowans so pissed off that they could go hack a head off of a butter statue.

Local elections have much greater bearing on your day to day life than presidential elections.

Interestingly, I think the new happy hour law in Kansas will have more of an effect on my day to day life than 95% of the other laws enacted since my birth.

Must feel like Kansas, other than being only 3 hours from San Francisco.

Yeah there's definitely more similarities than I expected. Most days you can't even see the mountains since it's so damn hazy here. I feel right at home.

Sys idk if you're itk about this kind of thing, but a girl i work with wants me to go "clubbing in fresno" sometime soon. The way I see it there is a chance I get laid, but there is also a chance I get stabbed. I'm erring on the side of not going because some parts of fresno scare the crap out of me. Thoughts?
