What % of people cuss on a regular basis?

I once had a colleague tell me that raising your voice and/or swearing to prove a point only proves you have the ability to lose control of a situation.

There are entire industries that have been built on, an continue to run largely on, raising voices and cussing at crucial times.

There are 2 types of leaders that cuss and raise their voice at crucial times to get things done.  The first type does it to make a point, but they still do it in a controlled manner.  This usually results in people getting stuff done and being around for the next crucial time.  The second type does it because they are emotional, but they write it off as OK because they think that by showing emotion stuff gets done and they've seen it work for others before.  The second type don't realize that everyone can see they are doing it out of emotion and fear, which results in them having less confidence in the manager and the ability to get the job done because they see the panic in their leaders.  Organizations go  in a hurry when they've had the success with core leaders that are the first type, then they get replaced with the second type.  I've seen it happen firsthand twice.

I have a great filter. When needing to behave myself, no cursing. But when the filter is not applied, I have a Sailor's mouth, so I'm told.

Depends on the setting. At work, pretty much never. At the gym or bars, pretty much every other word. During Cats' games, quite a bit, especially if it's close.

Kids - even closer to never (won't even curse at cat games with kids around)
Class - sometimes (it is fun to throw in a well timed swear every now and then)
Work - depends on the work environment, but this is where i'm the most sailorish

I usually get on my friends about cursing around kids. If I were a parent of a young kid, I wouldn't want my kid asking me what those words meant. However, babies can't talk so I like to throw in a "Shut that rough ridin' baby up!" to any random breast feeding mother of a crying baby.

I normally only cuss about people who are rough ridin' retards at work. I'm rarely around kids. But when I visit my family, I'm constantly almost cussing around my nieces and nephews when talking to my brother.  Also, was riding my bike the other day and got stuck behind a school bus next to the park. Was waiting for it to move and decided to weave around it. Then a woodchuck ran in front of me. Then I yelled "crap" and almost fell over in front of a bunch of kids who all thought that sequence was pretty funny.

I think yelling "forget you!" with anger at someone is more clever than saying "eff you."  (Yes, I have the site word filter on at work.)  And I'm always trying hard to look clever to my friends.

Depends on the situation. If I'm really into something, or realize I forgot to do something important I cuss. Outside of that not very often.
